A really great script. the plot has so many unexpected twists. the action is fast pased and nobody is miraculously saved, everyone gets to suffer in a way or another and there aren't many special effects, all these making it look more realistic. i would strongly recommend this film to the persons who like a film that will intrigue them until the end.

I wasn't expecting great things when this arrived, afterall it does star Jennifer Anniston, but I thought at least it would be keep me entertained for a couple of hours.... Well I was wrong because the script was shocking as was the laughable plot narrative, which kept me shouting 'huh' throughout this so called 'thriller'. It simply threw up too many unbelievable scenario's for me to completely enjoy this film. Why oh why would Clive Owens character be best buds with the drug dealing ex crim mailboy, who deoesn't seem to have a problem with bumping off the comedy french villain ( la douchebag or something similar) Why would the detective (incidently looking like Morgan Freeman in Seven) investigating the mailboys death describe him 'like a brother'? Come on, get real!!! How come Clive Owen was so willing to hand over $100,000 of his sick daughters savings when he didn't even get to sleep with Jennifer Anniston? Why didn't he just call the police? I must admit the twist was a pretty good one, but they didn't keep it up and it soon fell flat again!!! Jennifer Anniston is by no means a convincing female villain, and even by the end she was feeling guilty about Clive Owens sick daughter!!! The ending was so bad I'm not even gonna bother going there, just take my word that it goes downhill pretty quick. I was left at the end thinking 'so what?' which was disappointing!!!!

Although this is a slow film, it was tence enough to hold my attention to the end. I guessed about halfway through what was going to happen, but the ending came as a bit of a surprize, which was good. Jennifer Aniston was actually pretty watchable in this, maybe theres hope for her yet.

This is one of the best thrillers in recent years without a doubt. It has the Hitchcock theme of 1 man literally pilled up against the odds. Firstly one strong point that this movie is giving off is the remarkable performances! Especially from Aniston I never new she could act! She really actually crazily does all right in this movie but Owen really does capture the movie. This thriller has some really interesting twists and manipulation techniques that keep you watching. There isn’t much action in this movie it’s mainly set around dialogue and key scenes that progress the movie. Just after you watch the film you just know you have seen a strong piece of work that really did what it set out to do. The main twist at the end becomes a little clearer as soon as some key information is let loosed but apart from that its a strong, dialogue based, hard thriller that has some really nice moments of thrills. 4 out of 5 stars

A very good thriller only bettered by the superb acting of Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. A thrilling story that keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end. Not a necessity to see at the cinema but definately worth putting highly on your selection list! WATCH THIS FILM!

As a bit of really good entertaining cinema to me this had more to it than 90 % of films in this genre. It was acted perfectly well, had quite a few interesting twists and was a really thrilling film that was well worth a watch. I can't see what there really is to criticise this film for. in fact it was one of the best rentals I have had for months, a real seat edger.... I missed this when it was on at the cinema, I'm really glad I didn't miss it as a rental. Definately recommended.

This was an absolutely amazing film, not a lot to do with trains as the title suggests..just a brilliant thrilling film with so many twists that will keep you heart beating up till the end, where there are quite a few surprise endings. Brilliant acting, in no way boring and will make you think long after the film has ended...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I just come back from the cinema and not disapointed. A great thriller with an impressive cast. Very good script and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I guessed the twist quite early on the film but still found it entertaining.

I'd not really heard reviews, good or bad on Derailed so was able to put it on with a fairly neutral mind. What a waste of Clive Owen. And Jennifer Aniston, and pretty much everyone else who bothered to turn up and film this drivel. The master criminal was quite nicely evil (althought not beliveable at all - even his French accent sounded fake and the poor guy is really french, how worrying is that?!?!) but everything else was truly dull, dull dull. The twist at the end isn't exactly a big shock. If you want Clive Owen, go for the Inside Man every time - he suits gritty not nitty gritty!

I was surprised by this film. The plot, man in a middling marriage decides to dabble in extra marital activities and gets more than he bargains for. The film cracks along at a fair pace and the 2 leads are surprisingly good. Ms Aniston especially is good and Clive Owen has perfected that hang dog look that endears him to the audience. If you want a movie that has plenty action and a few plot twists then this might be for you.

Wasn't expecting much from this film having seen some reviews but I thought it was great. I haven't studied film so believe me, I don't know what I am talking about ;-) As a member of Joe Public, I thought it romped along at a fair old rate and the twist at the end (the very end) was unexpected. Rent it for an intriguing evening

Really enjoyed this - full of twists and turns the whole way through, and you really find yourself feeling so sorry for a guy who essentially is cheating on his wife - how does he end up in such a mess, etc! I really like Jennifer Aniston branching out of her rom-com stereotype, she is an excellent actress and I think she should concentrate on more dramatic roles as they make you forget she was ever Rachel in Friends. Well worth a watch - very gripping thriller

An exciting and fast moving storyline. A few good plot twists and you feel for Clive Owen as he gets himself deeper and deeper into a fix.Jennifer Aniston is tested in a taut drama and puts in a decent performance. Well filmed and the tension is allowed to build nicely as you keep asking yourself how will he get out of this mess! Rent it soon.

A pretty good film on the whole. It has an interesting and engaging story, is exciting at times, has some solid performances from a good cast, and some very good plot twists (including a good (but predictable) main plot twist). The film will not be for everyone though, and I can understand why many did not like it and gave it poor reviews on its release – it is slow-paced for the first 30-minutes (but the pacing eventually makes sense), is full of violence and explicit language, hints at rape, and at times you don’t believe a lot of the situations the characters are in would actually happen. Not a great film, and throughout you get the feeling of “I have seen this done before in another film”, but I enjoyed it in the end even with its flaws.

I went to see this at the cinema last year, without any expectations, as the reviews had been quite bad. The movie was so good, it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through to the end. The acting is superb, the plot is brilliant, and the twists keep coming. It puzzles me why critics didnt like this film. It was in fact so good that my boyfriend and I decided to see it again on dvd a year later, and we still found it excellent.

Derailed is the latest offering from Friends star Jennifer Aniston and it is a good one, in very much her first serious role Aniston performs admirably. Derailed is a tense and gripping action thriller that follows the story of married family man Charles played by Clive Owen who one day decides to act on his males urges following a chance meeting with Aniston’s character Lucinda. The story is not overly complex but does contain a few twists to keep you on your toes, I really can not say more without giving the plot away but would happily recommend this film to almost anyone. The acting is of good quality and the pace quick making for an enjoyable evenings entertainment, as with almost any of these action thrillers Derailed has its flaws but these are not enough to ruin the film. Overall Derailed is well worth a look, the movie is not ground breaking but well presented and entertaining, 7/10. 4 Stars

I was recommended this film by a friend. My girlfriend and i managed to watch it last night and i have to say it is one of the best films i have ever seen. YOU MUST WATCH THIS. Very, very highly recommended.

For me the worst thing about watching this was that I guessed the main plot twist very early in the film.This did have its good moments.Jennifer Aniston was good in a role which is different from her usual roles.Vincent Cassel played the bad guy a treat.On the negative side there were a few plot holes and Clive Owens accent slipped so much it was hard to tell whether he was supposed to be American or English.I found this pretty average.

A father of a disabled child (Owens) finds his life with his wife tedious and embarks on an affair with a woman he meets on a train (Aniston), but their attempt at an affair go horribly wrong when they are attacked in the hotel room. He is beaten up and she is raped. However the attacker is not satisfied and a cat and mouse game ensue with the father's family being threatened and he blackmailed. However things are not as they seem, and an interesting twist in the story materialises. The acting is good and the tension gripping. Vincent Cassell gives an especially believable performance as the baddie! Recommended viewing.

classic painting by numbers thriller. Large box of popcorn, a few beers, get your thinking caps on and love it. Even if you do figure it all out before the end you will still enjoy this one. Clive owen is superb in this role. Jenifer Aniston is quietly brilliant and the bad guy is menacing. Apart from Alexander, clive owen is emerging as one of those who only gets involved in decent projects. (see inside man, the croupier, closer)

I really enjoyed this film. I was surprised as I hadn't heard much about it and rented it because of the actors involved. Clive Owen is brilliant and the story had me entralled. Although I figured it all out quite early on, it was terrific story telling and well directed. I highly recommend this film for those who like a good thriller.

This was one of the best films that I've seen with a great twist at the end. Both main characters are great in this and you remain hooked from start to finish. An excellent thriller.

Great, super, smashing as Jim Bowen used to say. They really dont make thrillers like this anymore and this one was a huge difference to the usual by the numbers films Hollywood releases these days. With more twists and turns than a corkscrew poor, downtrodden Clive Owen is drawn into a web of deciet and lies by the vicious LaRoche (Vince Cassiell). Jennifer Aniston also goes a long way in leaving her Friends co stars in the shade and proves what a good leading lady and actress she is. Put this one on your list, you will NOT regret it.

I was very suprised by this movie. Having not read any reviews or even read the synopsis I watched this movie not expecting much at all. I thought it was an excellent movie! Edge of the seat type staff! Clive Owen as always is 'da man'. Jennifer did a good job(plus she was super hot!)! The cameo rappers(Rza & Xibit) did not disappoint! And the villan wasll that villans should be! PURE EVIL! Great film and highly recommended Peace

I missed this at the cinema and wasn't expecting much from it just the standard fare. I was wrong though I really enjoyed Derailed. It was fast paced and interesting and with some very good unseen twists. The guy who plays La Roche really comes across as a pure evil baddie. I think this is the best thriller I have seen in ages. I don't want to give anything away so I will just say rent it!

This isn't bad. It isn't brilliant, but it isn't bad. Jennifer Aniston, bless her, is doing her utmost NOT to be Rachel Green and I could be convinced (if I hadn't recently been watching the entire boxed set of Friends). Lots of twists and turns, but ever so slightly predictable. If you want a well paced , decently acted film of a Saturday night you could do a lot worse.

Not bad, a genuinely nasty and plausible villan but you could see the twist coming 100 miles away. The cast does a good job but i wasn't convinced by the way Clive Owen changes from hapless loser to avenging angel almost overnight. I would reccommend it for a rental but nothing new here.

Wish people would not tell you the film has a twist in it! Unfortunately the previous reviews have stated that. Twists are there as a surprise and when you know you start looking out for the twists rather than get embroiled in the film only for the twist to jump out on you! That makes a good film. So - knowing there was a twist - it could have made this film boring and predictable but luckily it did not! Good acting from Aniston and Owen and the characters draw you in. So without telling you the storyline or plot, I can tell you that there were still surprises there which I was not expecting and with a great storyline, made the film one of the most enjoyable films I have watched this year. And I have watched some good ones and crap ones and this is the first I have rated five stars so trust me on this one - rent it and enjoy!

Derailed is one of those films you're really better off not knowing too much about going in. Suffice to say, this is a well produced thriller which keeps throwing twist upon twist at the viewer. In many ways the film is a morality play, the message being that nothing good comes from dishonesty. Nice to see Jennifer Aniston play a role other than the sweet girl next door. Recommended.

This movie was great, I would highly recommend it. The parts were all really well cast and the acting was superb throughout. Refreshing to see Jennifer Anniston in such a different role, she is normally such a rom com chick this was totally refreshing.

Watched this film not really knowing too much about it and really enjoyed this film with the classic game of cat and mouse. The twist at the end was good but a little predictable but I didn't let that ruin the enjoyment of this rollercoaster ride of a film. What can I say.... but definatley rent this film or buy it.

To comment on this film would risk giving any of the plot away, and this is a film that you must watch with no inside information. I guarantee it will blow you away and is up their in my top 5 film EVER!

Wow! I was not expecting this film to be that great. The best thriller I have seen in ages with lots of twists and turns, which I didnt find predictable at all. Its good to see Jennifer Aniston doing something different as she is a great actress.

I rented this despite the lacklustre reviews it had received in the media merely because I am always curious to see if Jennifer Aniston can pull off a real non-Rachel performance. While she isnt going to win any Oscars with this performance ,she is a still a competent actress and combined with the fab Clive Owen this film proved to be a good nights entertainment with a twist that I didn't see coming (unlike some!). Vincent Cassel is great as the sleazebag criminal who blackmails the couple after mugging them in their hotel room. Owen plays his role as a man sinking further into desperation to cover up his wrongdoings well and even manages his almost complete character transformation near the end with some believability! Rent this one, forget the snobby film critics, you may be surprised!!

Despite sussing out the plot quite early on, we really enjoyed it, its a bit predictable but good twist etc. Really rate Clive Owen but never understand why they cast a Brit as an American??

Great casting, a superb performance from our own Clive Owen, The Chancer at his best!. Jennifer Aniston holds her own too, was bit put off by the language in the sound track and had to keep muting it if kids walked in. Disapointing ending as I expected a twist that didn't come!!

A tense well acted thriller with a twisting storyline makes this film a really worth while watch and a good surprise. Clive Owen is making a name for himself in the states with great subtle performances even though his US accent slips a bit at times you really believe his characters. The violent set-up is excellent and his predicament is futile, if a little incredulous. Anniston is very good in her role and is always easy on the eye but i really enjoyed the role played by the nasty french black mailer. The story has a fantastic twist near the end but I believe it should have finished 10 minutes early because it tails of a little and becomes a little far fetched at the very end. Well recommended though.

THIS FILM REALLY SURPRISED ME, TO START IT LOOKS LIKE A CHICK FLICK THEN THE FILM TAKES AN EXCITING AND DIFFERENT TWIST. IT IS VERY ENTERTAINING AND WORTH WATCHING.

I really enjoyed this film, it was definately thrilling. My heart was beating so fast for a lot of the scenes, wondering what would happen next! The film certainly got me and my boyfriend talking about a few of the issues raised in it. However, I can't watch Friends in the same light. Jennifer Aniston certainly played a different charector. I am not sure what Clive Owen's accent was meant to be though! If you are wanting a gripping film then this is a good pick.

What a great film this is. The chemistry between Clive Owen & Jennifer Aniston is very convincing and the twists and turns throughout makes this an enjoyable film to watch. I'm not a big fan of Ms. Aniston's films in general, but I was very surprised with this one. A solid script with a clever ending makes this a must-see film!

This Film had me guesssing right to the end. Even my husband, who always 'Knows whats going to happen' didnt get it. Clive Owen is, as always, fabulously sexey. The only thing I didn't like, were the fake American accents from the British actors.

I can't understand why the good people on Love Film have given this film so much praise? Anniston was terrible: wooden and completely unbelievable. At least she is well matched with Owen, who doesn't have any charisma or charm either. The story is ridiculous - it thinks its clever and its just not - and totally implausible. For example, without giving too much away, when Anniston's character is revealed for what she is, she is still as equally wet and pathetic as before. The only times I was vaguely entertained were when I was laughing at the embarassing dialogue or stupid plot revelations. Sorry, but RUBBISH.

for the first quarter of the film it seems a formulaic love affair gone wrong but then come the surprises. Bear with this one because you'll start to enjoy it and you may not foresee the ending. Excellent casting and good performances all round.

I watched this at the cinema and did enjoy it. It does have a twist that unfortunately is predictable but it is good to see Aniston is not sticking to her usual stereotypical role.

a good idea for a story line however i felt i could see what was happening quite soon into the movie, jennifer anistons good attempt of trying to play the opposite of her typical type cast character in friends was interesting although the film lacked twists and i felt it didn't get my mind working hard enough to uncover what was going on. could have been better but a good watch.

To my surprise, Derailed is more than your average run of the mill thriller. The plot is a goodun and the lead pair are good value. Good to see Jennifer try something other than a lousy rom com. Though, unfortunately for her, she still breaks out into Rachael in more than one scene. The twisty turns the movie adopts can be seen a mile off but that doesn't spoil the intrigue. This is a well constructed thriller that you will no doubt get enjoyment from without getting overly excited.

i was very dissapointed with this film. the hype made it sound good but again we are dissapointed with the reality.

A intense movie, which you don't expect the twist at the end. my husband not fond of these movies, even was gripped to it. As for jennifer Aniston once said to be type cast as Racheal from Friends, not in this movie. never once did i see rachel appear. It's fantastic and I highly recommend this to anyone.

The first 35 - 40 minutes might make you think what if anything is this film all about, and will it ever get going. But my god, does it. Its a good new original storyline, with lots of twists and turns to keep you amused. Won't say more than that, as it it may ruin it for you, but needless to say after first 40 minutes (which incidently does come apparent why you watched it) later on and is probably needed, then its one of the best films i've seen in ages.As most are not great nowadays it convices us that some good films still can be made. Clive & Jennifer act out there parts very well i think and EXHIBIT does exactly how you'd expect him too.Gangster!

Wasnt sure about this film when reading what it was about. But once the film got started it was really gripping and there are some unexpected twists which really surprise you and make you want to found out how the film will end. Definately one to watch.

I really liked this film, it's one of the best i have seen so far this year. But there one thing that annoyed me, the twist was excellent but on the trailer it shown you something which if you seen you would know how it ends. So do not watch the trailer press play and enjoy.

Hey, do you know, for a film that starred Clive ‘Wooden’ Owen and Jennifer ‘TV Actress’ Aniston it wasn't that bad. I won’t go into the story, however there were some plotholes and the ending did let the film down. It was scarcely believable. Worth seeing though.

'Derailed' falls into the box of 'Great for a rental'. It's certainly one hell of a ride - some of the twists near the end aren't seen coming and Vincent Cassell's lead baddy is chilling throughout. Unfortunatley for the movie's middle act Jennifer Aniston is stuck in a fairly one-note role, but she sparkles in the first and final thirds of the production, in a role which breaks the Rachel Greene stereotype we've grown accustomed to seeing her in. People can accuse Clive Owen of only being able to perform certain roles, but you can't dispute that he plays those certain roles to perfection. There's not much shown of the life his protagonist leads normally, except for the first five minutes, because after that it's all fairly grim and bleak. But otherwise it's a very fine performance. 'Derailed' delivers all the shocks and and twists you'd hope to see - sometimes it's a little too predictable but on the whole it's a generally good movie. Not a classic, but a fine choice for those who like their thrillers without the sugar topping.

I liked this film a lot, for once the baddy was great, and all the things a baddy should be.

I did find myself watching Jennifer Aniston to see if she could pull off a good performance without her band of New York cronies, she was great and as usual Clive Owen was spot on.

Watch this you will like it, even if your missus/husband susses it out from the very beginning!!

It's hard to say too much without giving the plot away but if you can get past the irritating ' for god's sake why didn't he go to the cops NOW' part which came shortly after I got such a shock I actually screamed as I jumped half way out of my chair, it gets much better and actually delivers some satisfying twists. Well worth a watch.

I agree with some that the film was a little slow at the beginning - looked more like it was going to be a love story! However, it's worth sticking with as it heats up and throws in a twist

This story has so many twists and turns you daren't leave the room, the story line is fantastic and Jennifer Aniston playing a fab leading role. Don't be disillusioned by the title the only thing to do with a train is the fact that they meet there. Would recommend this to anyone, impossible to go into the plot without giving anything away, definitely worth an hour and a half’s of anyone’s time.

What a good film! I was truly surprised at how good it really was. Both Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston put in great performances and its fab to see Jen moving from her comedy routes. The plot is good and theres a good twist, which may be predictable but really works with the film. my husband was convinced this was a chick flick and was surprised that he really enjoyed it. Definately one to watch, and will keep the husband from straying! :0)

One tends to associate Jennifer Aniston with comedy so when I started to watch this I didn't know what to expect. By the end of the movie I realised that I had really enjoyed it and Ms Aniston was very good in a straight role. Clive Owen was brilliant as always. Not a master-piece but a good thriller with a twist.

Derailed is a cracking thriller and although it doesn’t deviate too much from the normal parameters of the genre and does not throw too many surprises in our direction (even the final development at the end of the film is somewhat transparent), the film is well paced, cleverly directed, intelligently scripted and benefits from exceptional performances from all 3 principal actors. Clive Owen plays the ‘everyman’ role very convincingly; Vincent Cassel manages to be charming whilst oozing menacing danger from every pore and Jennifer Aniston, with consummate ease, plays the ‘femme fatale’ and catalyst for the journey of Owen’s character into hugely unfamiliar and extremely uncomfortable territory. As one of the best thrillers of 2005, this is well worth a look.

Who knew Jennifer Anniston could really play anything other than Rachel in friends? I can honestly say I thought she was really good in this. The twist may have been obvious from the beginning but that didn't make the movie any less enjoyable. Clive Owen stole the show just as I thought he would. Still gutted he didn't become the next Bond.

This film had to be the best I have seen this year. I urge you to view this film. Great story line good acting and a couple of great twists. Who would have thought our Friend Jennifer could act so well.

Well acted film with a very credible performance, for once, from Jennifer Aniston. Clive Owen and she interacted well together and it was a film that held one's attention and held surprises.

About a quarter way through the film i had guessed the plot but otherwise it was quite a good film. jennifer and clive are brilliant in their roles

I really enjoyed this movie, it kept me interested all the way through & I didn't think it was predictable. It had some rough stuff but nothing too hideous (I don't like that really violent stuff particularly!). It was really good to see Clive Owen looking somewhat venerable for once & also Jennifer Anniston playing a serious rather than comedy role. Thought it was definitely worth watching!

I wasnt sure what to expect with this film, but boy was i surprised. There were so many twists and turns and the storyline was fantastic. Clive Owen gives an outstanding performance and i was pleasantly surprised by how impressive Jennifer Aniston was too. I would highly recommend this film, we were on the edge of our seats the whole time!

Exciting story, you held your breath for the next scene, the filming was terrific and the acting top drawer, never a fan of Jennifer Aniston, she was so credible in this part, I was impressed and put her up with the top actors of today.

This film keeps you enthrawled. I guessed the twist quite early on but still enjoyed it. It does leave you feeling a little cold though.

I very nearly turned this film off after the first thirty minutes. However I am so glad I didn't - once this film got going it was excellent. Plenty of twists and turns with which kept me glued to my seat, to the end. Jennifer Aniston is surprisingly good - a change from her usual Rachel roles. This film is a must see!!!!!!!!!!

Watched this film not realy knowing much about the plot - I was engrossed from the beginning and then really shocked when the main story began, and even more shocked at the end. My husband more or less guessed the plot (he is quite good at that - spoiling it for me!) but all the same I was still shocked when the ending became apparent and it all fitted into place. I'm not easily pleased when it comes to films - they have to hold my attention and there has to be a reason behind the plot so this film performed really well. I also thought that the two main characters were played very well and both were convincing. Rent it and enjoy it - it's not even a chick flick - my husband enjoyed it just as much as I did.

This is a great film with an interesting twist. Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen work well together and the story itself leaves you pondering for several days afterwards. A definite rent!

This was a brilliant film, both Clive Owen and Jennifer Anniston are brilliant in it. Well worth watching although the guys may find it makes them feel differently about Anniston.

It follows a guy not happy at home who embarks on an affair with someone he meets on a train, turmoil follows him then for a while and he gets into something a bit deep. I guessed who was involved early on, but how it was executed was brilliant and while i could guess who was involved you couldn't tell how/why. It seemed to be shot a bit on the dark side, but its a bit of a dark, quite unnerving film at times. Not her usual girly type film, you will be surprised.

Don't believe that Jennifer Aniston is miscast here - she ain't. Plausible, just, and cracking performances all round - well worth an evening in.

expected great things from this, a little disappointed, story content was imaginative, about a guy being temped by a pretty girl, and finding himself draw into a web of lies, and him trying to keep it from his wife, a little long winded but the ending was quite good so i;m going to commit myself to saying it was worth a watch

Sat down, started watching, and half way through thought, seen it all before. I thought typical, businessman/businesswoman unhappy, have an affair, someone blackmails them, la la la. Though without giving the plot away, good little twist (which you may or may not spot coming), and the ending to it, though quick, is effective, and redeems itself in the process. Worth a watch, though there is better out there.

The story line was incredibly good and inventive. The initial encounter between Clive Owen & Jennifer Aniston was quite believable, and the slow pace of events in the beginning was simply symbolic of their assumingly miserable and affectionless lives, so much so that you were misled into feeling some emotional sympathy towards their relationship. Aniston was really rather good, I felt Clive Owen didn't really portray the fear and distress one might assume when entwined in such exploding dire straits, no beads of sweat or panic in his eyes - for me he let the side down, but Vincent Cassel was amazingly charming and vulgar, chillingly believable and charismatically violent - A great actor, he has passion unlike Owen. The storyline was incredible, and I was really stunned at the astounding revelation. An extraordinarily good thriller!

This film took me be surprise because i didn't expect this to be anywhere near as good as it is. Jen Aniston puts in a solid performance which really convinces. I don't want to give too much away but this is a thriller that flew under the radar.

After a quiet start you're hit really hard (with one hell of a twist). Faced with horrific and harrowing circumstances . . an intense, gripping, disturbing and engrossing tale unfolds. And check out the 'finale' - it's oh so sweet :-)

WOW, completely suprised by this thriller. The twists and turns this film takes throughout is AMAZING. It is well written, superbly acted and Jennifer has finally done a cracking movie! Thinking this film probably had something to do with a rail disaster by its title, I was pleasantly surprised when it was about something completely different. This is a brilliant film and if you've only seen Jennifer Aniston in 'Friends' it's great to see her taking on a different kind of role. Good thriller eonugh twists and turns that will keep you interested but Clive Owen's character is soo naive at times that you just want to slap him in the face and tell him to wake up and go to the Police. But outsight of that a good film.

What a great film. Wasn't expecting that much out of it but it was just excellent. Takes you by surprise more than once and twists and turns to keep up the excitement. It gets to the point where you just think to yourself how much worse can things get for this poor man. And then it all turns round in such an unexpected way. Good film from start to finish. Enjoyed this film, as first I was a bit wary of watching Jennifer Aniston in a serious film but she was excellent. She plays a woman who meets Clive Owen on a train and they consider having an affair and they go to a seedy hotel. The events that happen there turn Owens world upside down - cannot say too much as it would spoil the plot...

Avoid this film at all costs! The plot is so tired and predictable that it offers no suspense, no surprises and no entertainment at all. The acting is poor and the dialogue is often cringeworthy - Clive Owen's reprisal of the old, 'I bet you $20 I can kiss you without touching your lips' line being the most vomit-inducing offender, though there are many other contenders. Nothing in this film will compensate you for the time lost in watching it.

I don't think there's a single good thing to say about this film. It's utter rubbish. The script is terrible, with painful dialogue that would never be said in situations like these, the acting really bad, and a 'twist' you can see as soon as the two leads meet each other. The first ten minutes are particularly bad and I almost turned it off serveral times. I didn't care what happened to anyone. Plus the plot has been done to death.

I had this as a 'filler' to keep my lists full up so was not expecting anything from it but I have to admit it wasn't half bad! Jennifer Aniston played an evil femme fatal and her boyfriend was a class act! All in all I would recommend getting this on your selection list. Well done Jenny !

Clive Owen sleepwalks his way through this thriller in much the same way as he does in all of his other films, Vincent Cassel chews the scenery to pieces in a re-hash of his Ocean's 12 part and Jennifer Aniston actually pulls it off pretty well, but then she is playing an attractive and successful woman, so it's hardly a stretch is it?

All of the characters are flawed at cliché levels way above the average and none of them, not even the victims, deserve to be cared about. As far a twists and intrigue go, there’s little here that you wouldn’t have seen before, and won’t see coming a mile off. At best this is the kind of movie that passes time without requiring too much effort, but little more than that.

There must be better stories out there to turn in to movies and wish the studios would stop spending millions of time-wasters like Derailed.

Clive Owen does little more than play Clive Owen, but Vincent Cassel is pleasingly evil. The violence is gritty but it's pleasing to see people who actually bruise when they get hit. The plot just about kept us watching but my suspension of disbelief couldn't survive this supposedly normal guy making such bad decisions. Ultimately disappointing, but not actually bad.

After reading some of these reviews on lovefilm it seems to me that some people over analyise a film and appear to want to hurl unjustified criticism for anything that isnt arthouse, super sophisticated or filled with special effects This is simply a very good film. In fact I thought this film was just short of excellent. It was satisfying, credible, entertaining, thrilling with good acting from all. I watched this film again just 2 days later and still enjoyed it. Well worth seeing.

With one or two exceptions ('I'll sleep when I'm dead' being one), Clive Owen usually picks his roles quite well and you can see why this book adaptation would have appealled. Unforunately, the script is lame, the twist and turns and, ultimately, the finale are so far-fetched as to render the whole premise of 'ordinary guy forced into extraordinary actions' unfesible. Jennifer Aniston gives 110% of her acting ability, which means she was only wooden and dreadful instead of really wooden and really, really dreadful. Additionally, rap artist turned 'actor' Xibit should stick to Pimp My Ride and not try to string a legible sentence together without the aid of an autocue. One to miss. Dig out an old copy of Fatal Attraction and watch a bit of bunny boiling if you think you need to put off of an extra-marrital affair.

You should definately watch it. I am not a big fan of thrillers, so the first time watched it in cinema just to pass some time, and I was really gobsmacked. It keeps you tense all along until the very end. Very interesting and rather unpredictable story line. Good tease for your brain and nerves.

Average thriller - the twists are predictable, the acting by both leads is wooden, the ending far fetched (have these detectives never heard of forensics??) Passed a couple of hours but wouldn't recommend.

Finally Jennifer Aniston proves that she is infact human and beds someone infront of a camera. There are rumours surrounding her next film concerning a scene where she might/might not let one go in a bathtub. And as for Clive 'the wooden man' Owen - my goodness I've seen scarecrows move faster than this guy - a pretty average performance from a pretty overated actor. Congratulations to Xzibit for another top notch Hollywood appearance. Ahem...

I think this movie should be a wakeup call to script writers, that audiences are getting allot more savy about plot twists. This movie was so, so predictable that nothing could save it, which was a shame becuase the performances werent too bad. Basically if you watched Titanic & wondered if it was going to sink, then this movie might just entertain!

What a fantastic film, i had average expectations of this film, but i was left blown away. The film had me hooked and enthraled all the way through. The plot twists and turns, even to the end and it is a cleverly twisted written story. Another great performance from Clive Owen who should be getting much more recognition for his latest films. Jennifer Anniston delivers a surprisingly good role and it really shows off her acting more than the comedy films she's attempted. I'd like to see her in more gripping dramas and thrillers. Well worth a second watch!!

I was surprised by this film. The plot, man in a middling marriage decides to dabble in extra marital activities and gets more than he bargains for. The film cracks along at a fair pace and the 2 leads are surprisingly good. Ms Aniston especially is good and Clive Owen has perfected that hang dog look that endears him to the audience. If you want a movie that has plenty action and a few plot twists then this might be for you.

Such a poorly plotted thriller. The main character keeps acting illogically, to the point where it becomes almost funny. And the main twist seemed so outstandingly obvious that I tried to ignore it, but the director actually tipped his hat to it near the beginning of the film. And the end was just plain ridiculous. This film is just so bad. Avoid.

Having recently read the book upon which the film is based, I thought the film would be worth a look. However, it's so loosely based on the book that I was thoroughly disappointed. Huge chunks of the book are ignored, and those which are included appear to be thrown in as an afterthought. The book is far more gripping than the film, and has many more twists as well.

No point in getting too deep about this film...it is what it is.....and that is ideally rent it for a Sunday night viewing when theres crap-all else on TV and when you fancy an inoffensive little thriller. Yeah, you will probably guess the outcome sooner rather than later which may make you feel a little smug for a while. However, you then realise you guessed the plot because it really is that damn simple which leads to ultimate disappointment. However, for fearing to sound contradictory here, this still is a reasonable movie which will entertain. Its never going to earn major plaudits but who cares. The acting is reasonable and I didnt feel cheated out of a couple of hours of my time. A good rental choice but not one you would probably want to own.

I liked the building threat arising from Clive Owen's liaison with Aniston and the intrusion into his private life. It is worth a watch, so stay with it, right to the end!!

THis film is one of the best thrillers I have seen in a lon long long time!!! THe story is very far fetched and you will say to yourself 'oh come on'' loads of times cause it is a bit unbelievable at times but the directing narration and story will keep you glued to the screen like your life depended on it!!

With the actors in this film I thought it would be a good film but I was disappointed. It just didn't seem to have me on the edge of my seat. It's OK to watch if you don't want to think too much about what's going on.

This film had me gripped from start to finish. The twists and turns within the plot were unpredictable and truly amazing which kept me glued to my seat. Clive Owen was fantastic & even though I'm a huge Jennifer Aniston fan she still surprised me with her spectacular performance, to be honest though my fav throughout was Vincent Cassell and what a guy he is, he had the bad dude down to a T, excellent. This film is definitely not 1 to miss an absolute must for everyone!!

Derailed was a surprise that came out of your every day thriller movie, at first, I thought this would be a normal thriller movie, but after the first 5 minutes an atmosphere began to unfold, and an incredible story began. Derailed contained an amazing story line was unique and the acting was superb it showed the depth of the characters life and was unique in its own story. It kept my eyes on the television the whole time; it was able to hook me into the storyline. It was a unique twist from your everyday thriller movie and the characters really developed into the storyline, I enjoyed every moment of it and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere that Clive Owen brought into Derailed is what made it such an incredible movie and that’s what kept me so occupied with it. I enjoyed watching this movie and I loved watching it again so buy it and watch it every once in a while or rent it for Saturday night because you will be satisfied with Derailed.

Like Clive Owen - Always believeable but never seen Jennifer Aniston in a good movie yet. That is until this one. This is a good movie. It starts off as a bit of a chick flic. Married man with a life not totally to his liking through no fault of his own falls for a married woman he meets on the train. It turns into the start of an affair - Then it starts to get better and darker as his life plunges to new lows. A very competant thriller even if you manage to see (or suspect) the twist coming.

I watch many movies and i love thrillers, however sometimes i found the plots quite predictable. This is a complete different planet. Exceptional movie, definitely a must-see! it will keep you glued to your preferred chair like very few movies can do. If you love action, twists and an intelligent plot rent 'derailed' and you won't regret it. Honestly top notch!

This is a great film, Clive Owen was perfect for this role and those eyes of his are truly haunting. Jen Anniston was great in her role and 'Friends' was completely forgotten. She proved that she is capable of so much more. Great story line and great acting. Definetly worth a watch. My suggestions is that you watch this film if you are thinking about a little extra-marital nookie...it'll kill that thought dead in its tracks!

I rented this film with no preconcived idea of the film at all, and I must say I enjoyed it to the end. The film moved at a nice steady pace from begining to end. The cast worked well together, Jennifer Aniston role suprised me the most she performed strongly throughout. Australian actress Melissa George although playing a supporting role is really starting to shine as a Hollywood starlet. All in all if you haven't seen this film well worth the watch.

This movie is not for the faint hearted... When watching a particularly chilling scene involving Jennifer Aniston and a rapist, even the most macho of my male friends were feeling a little queasy... But, this movie is brilliant.... interesting, thought provoking and with twists and turns right to the end.... this movie gets it right. Jennifer Aniston breaks away from her 'Friends' image with this one.... Definitely one to watch, but put the kiddies to bed first...

Based on a chance meeting between Clive Owen and Jenni Aniston, a tale of twists and turns unfolds from a night of potential passion between the two main characters. The story grips your attention and there's a few shocking moments as well. A great example of a contemporary thriller!

This film is incredibly predictable and unoriginal. The plot has been done so many times. Its a shame because I wanted to enjoy it due to who was in it namely, Owen and Aniston. But the chemistry between them was unconvincing - they were supposed to have been passionately attracted to each other but it doesn't come accross at all. And almost from the start I picked up on what was going on (I won't say too much because I don't want to spoil it for future viewers). Having said that, it is watchable when there is nothing else on.

This is a really good film. Aniston shows she is a good actress and I think carries her role off with style. Clive Owen, who can be staid, put in a worthy performance too. Its a clever story, well executed, building up slowly but surely until it slugs you in the chops. I never saw the twist(s) coming at the end which made it all the more enjoyable.

I could not remember this film been at the cinema and hired it on a whim. However after finding the plot initially irritating (given Owen's character is such a weak person) I was soon glued to my seat and I was thought the ending was excellent. I would certainly advise anybody to rent this film!

This film is really quite good. Very refreshing to see Jennifer as someone else expect Rachel from Friends - and in this role, she steps away from her usual comedy/love story category. The film is centered around an affair gone wrong. The twist in the story is clever and the story is actually quite believable. So much for the twist in this film, it is so obvious that it almost smacks you in the face. The whole premise of the film is daft and I could not for the life of me have any sympathy for Owen’s character when he is the author of his own misfortune. Sorry but this one is a dud.

This is a good psychological thriller and well-acted. There is the occasional plot and character inconsistency, but not sufficient to spoil your enjoyment.

What starts off to be a typical romantic drama quickly develops into something alot more interesting and sinister, it makes you ask questions of yourself and what you would do in the characters position. Excellent script and great twists, we really enjoyed this one!

Good plot but seem to lack something. Nasty undertone until the story unfolds. Jennifer Aniston acting ability has reach the next level, never rated much on her acting ability prior to this. Clive Owen is stoic, all his emotion bottled up, rather expressionless .... is it due to his acting ability or not ... Somehow can't put a finger on it, the film just does not seem to....eh....take off/lack something despite the plot is good.

When I watched the extra's to this movie the screenwriter told us that the mistakes the lead character made were the same that any us would make. Doh! Sorry mate but I’m not that stupid. Jennifer is good as ever and is given a good script to work with and so is the bad guy. The problem is Clive, he's as gormless idiot who leaves you not really caring less and in this movie that’s a big problem.

I thought this was good, I don't understand the negative reviews some people have given it. Good plotline, tense, well acted, nice if slightly predictable twist, what's not to like? Jennifer Anniston shrugs off the Rachael image and Clive Owen's character behaves like a average guy, not an action hero. Well recommended.

Was'nt quite what I was expecting from the trailers as they gave an impression of lots of twists, turns and action. Very slow start but the action did hot up towards the end with a good twist even though it was drawn out. Felt myself not caring for any of the characters but was strangely compelled to see the film through to the end just in case it improved....which it did slightly. What a shame, I had been looking to seeing Clive Owen in action!!

I really enjoyed this film. I thought the leads were all cast well; the story set up was gripping and the twist and turns completely took me by surprise. It is so far the only film in which I have seen both Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston actually act (and in the case of Ms Aniston; act as anyone other than the character she played in Friends). I also thought VIncent Cassel was fantastic and totally believable as the threatening hood. To me this is an unusual film to come from Hollywood because it has an interesting story and it makes you think. I also makes left-field choices for its cast and then has them play agains type. I'm going to watch this again as soon as I've forgotten the twist in the tail. Watch it yourself - if you like a good story and a great 'small' film (ie; NOT a blockbuster) you'll love it too.

My brother recommended this film to me, saying that it was a good film with a 'wicked twist at the end.' The reality was that this was not a good film in any way and the 'twist' was about as surprising as finding Christmas presents under the tree on Christmas morning! Honestly all these reviews that talk about the 'great' twist at the end; what were they watching! If you want a thriller with a good twist at the end watch The Usual Suspects or Matchstick Men or something like that … not this! I promise that unless you have the film on mute or just get side-tracked by Jennifer Aniston you will work out what's happening in the first 25 minutes! The only thing that makes the film bearable is that the performances are all pretty decent and Jennifer Aniston could make a trip to the dentist seem pleasant. Apart from that though this story is dull, predictable and terribly clichéd… Avoid!!

The good thing was that the victim is no hero he is a normal guy who reacts normally to a crisis, he doesn't suddenly give a karate chop to the bad guy or throw witty lines top get punched even more. The bad thing is that the twist was easy to spot way before it is revealed and therefore it sort of made that film less interesting. However the ending is good.

This film was great I thought I solved it at the beginning and then there is a bombshell through-out the middle of the film. On-going drama loved it. A must see

Was very very impressed by this thriller! It is quite slow going, but I think it works as it makes it seem that bit more believable. Twists are exciting (though I must admit, I did guess the main one quite early on) and there are scenes which keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended!!!

That's all this film was..it was OK. I had to see it just because Jenifer Aniston was in it, I like to see her break out of the Rachel role she's stuck with from friends! She didn't really manage to do it to be honest but anyway.. The storyline was ok, there is a nice twist at the end, which is always good isn't it? It's worth a watch but I'm not raving about it..

Disappointing...this film became more and more farfetched as it went on. Nearly didn't watch all the way through!

I thought the gratuitous violence and excessive sexual violence were horrific. The treatment of the women unecessarily graphic and frankly abusive to this female viewer. The hotel room scenes were shot with the prurience of a teenager's view - not a sophisticated film maker. Hitchock would turn in his grave to hear ppl comparing this shocker to his subtle and technically brilliant work. I'm surprised it's only a 15 cert, and the plot didn't seem strong enough to redeem these weaknesses, so we swtiched off.... Very disappointing.

Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston - who cast these two together? surely it's impossible for there to be some magic here? Well, surprisingly the film is very good and i didn't see the the plot turning how it did. Sure it isn't the fastest film in the world bu tif your looking after a sunday evening film then this is perfect. I enjoyed and Aniston looks bloody gorgeous!!

After a somewhat average but watchable start, the film picked up suspense and speed quickly and we were riveted to our sofas as the full and rather clever story accelerated. Great twist towards the end, which leaves you with a completely different set of emotions towards one of the lead characters. True that a simple and confidential phone call to the relevant authorities would have sorted the problem out at the first hurdle, but then we wouldn't have had the whole film to enjoy! Just one small complaint though - the implausible US accents by our very own British actors. Would definitely recommend.

If you like Hitchcock or French Film Noir, then I can definitely recommend this movie; Jennifer Aniston, Clive Owen and Vincent Cassel are amazing.

The premise of the plot sounds actually rather dull: bored husband with poor little sick daughter gets himself into an ethical dilemma. But the dullness ends very brutally during a mugging in a shabby hotel room. Aniston's and Owen's acting is so incredibly realistic in that moment that you start wondering how you would react if you got yourself in this kind of situation.

"Derailed" reminded me of a number of Hitchcock movies, and also French style films like "Diabolique" (with Sharon Stone). There are a lot of unexpected twists right up to the closing credits, and it's stylish and violent at the same time.

Having been a "Friends"-fan for many years, I only watched this movie to see what Jennifer Aniston's acting is like in a serious movie. It was worth every minute. There's not a trace of "Rachel" in her acting; her voice and her body language are brilliantly different. Can't wait to see her next "serious" role.

I have seen many films and a lot of very good thrillers and this is up with the best of them! If you enjoy a high tension thriller with a twist you will love this. Depending on how many films of this type you have seen you will work out the twist in the first 10 minutes (like me), or not until the end scenes of the film. Either way you will enjoy watching the action unravel to see if your right or be totally immersed in the film that the twist will hit you like a freight train!

The plot revolves around a meeting on the train between Clive Owen and Jennifer Anniston, who begin an affair only for them to be interrupted by a mugger in the seedy hotel, played excellently by Vincent Cassel of Ocean's 12. If the torment of the interruption wasn't enough he sets out to blackmail Clive Owen for all he can.

This is a great thriller that will get many thinking about how a quick decision can cost so much. 8/10

Having read the book , which i thouroghly enjoyed , i looked forward to the film , as the book had such filmic potential and had fine actors. It was spoiled by Jennifer Anistons acting. I have seen her in other things and have always found her engaging , so it must be the directors fault in making her character so removed and unconvincing that it spoiled the film.

Jen is a really good straight actress - wasn't my choice of movie, but throughly enjoyed it. Good story and interesting twists.

I was genuinely surprised at how good this movie was. It's a great story with a real shocking twist to it that had me on the edge of my seat. I totally recommend this to anybody who enjoys a great story with plenty of shocking thrills.

I totally agree with another reviewer here about not listening to critics reviews. Afterall, they told me Perfume, Story of a Murderer was good and it was one of the most dismal films I have ever seen. Derailed on the other hand, is not.

Charles Schine is a tired Ad executive, who's marriage is in a rut and their only child in desperate need of expensive medication. On his daily commute, Charles meets Lucinda and soon begins to consider having an affair with her. This leads to violence and blackmail.

I don't want to give anything more away, but I found the story line original and, at times, truely frightening. Jennifer Anniston is excellent, as is Clive Owen. The added plot twists only add to the film.

One of the best thrillers I have seen- well worth a watch.

A great thriller of the classic genre where an innocent is drawn into a situation that carried him/her deeper and deeper into a nightmare world. Excellent performances and a plot that grabs you at the start, keeps you guessing until the resolution. If you have not yet seen it it is a real treat.

Whether you like Clive Owen or Jennifer Aniston or not - and before watching this film I was not a Clive Owen fan - I defy you not to like the film by the end! I did not pause to get a coffee or nibbles...I wanted to watch it through the longer it continued. There is passion, intrigue, violence and a thrilling conclusion contained here. RZA gives a great performance in his role and you cannot help but dislike Tom Conti's character in the story. It will leave you 'jumpy' at stages and at other times you want to shout at Owen's character and warn him!! I recommend you and your partner watch this film together and then I guarantee an intriguing discussion will take place afterwards! If you watch it alone then do so at night witht he lights off...the effect will be amazing! Will I watch it again? YEP!

The only legitimate reasons to bother watching this film are: 1. you are a connoisser of terrible American accents as performed by British actors (Clive Owen). 2. you have the hots for Jennifer Aniston, Vincent Cassel or Clive Owen to a sufficient degree that you do not care about the film quality, or the quality of Clive Owen's American accent. 3. you are very very drunk - as other reviewers have pointed out, the plot is so utterly unlikely that even the three excellent lead actors struggle to make it believable.

Watched this one on TV the other night. It started out pretty damn slow but soon picked up after the first half hour. I didn't see the plot twist coming, although my husband did! This was a good film, by no means was it a great film but watchable and enjoyable. However, it was instantly forgettable, which is why it only receives 3 stars.

This is the best film i've seen in ages. Great storyline, many unexpected twists and really exciting. It is everything you want in a good thriller. The acting is excellent and it is very interesting to see Jennifer Aniston in a serious and edgy role. I can't recommend this movie highly enough. Pure Class.

Good film Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen play very good roles - the film is very dark and rather vilant but if you are into thrillers then this is the film for you.

I defy anyone who says this is a great script. It is average. It has one major flaw, and it's a cardinal sin in screenwriting...at the end of the film the main characters were changed very little from the beginning. At the beginning: their marriage was in crisis, sick daughter, money saved up. End: marriage still in crisis, still got a sick daughter (who never knew anything) and they got the money back. You could argue Clive owen has learnt not to have affairs in cheap hotels...but whatever they have learnt, there is no ABSOLUTE IRREVERSIBLE change. That's one of the first rules of screenwriting. Other than that there are many holes that are covered up - Clive Owen would go to the police, against Annistons pleas, because he has a sick daughter and that always comes first, if he's willing to give $100,000 to protect his family, then he's willing to mess up Annistons marriage to save them. The try to cover it up with the 'guilt' factor, but it's not good enough. There are many flaws to the script, but it is saved by more stella performance from Clive Owen and Vincent Cassel, with Anniston putting in a good show too (but not her best). And when push comes to shove, it is an exciting journey that, for the most part, i enjoyed.

I love all the actors in this film and like a good thriller, so I ordered it and started watching, expecting it to be great. It was, actually, very dull and predictable. In fact, I was getting bored and found the lead characters frustrating. Then, however, came the twist in the story- and suddenly the film got very good and thrilling. I'd recommend this because I thought the twist in the story and the resolve of the film were excellent and made the rest of the film make sense. Defo give this a watch. I didn't see it coming so thought it was a genius twist in the tale.

Loved this movie. I thought it was going to be just another love story but loved it because it was so different.

Oh dear. Jennifer Aniston is in this. Hmmm, not a good start. But hang on! This is actually quite a good film. The story is believable, the acting (even by JA) is good and the tension grows. Very soon, you forget who the actors are, you become engrossed in the next twist. Which is always a good sign - think of David Jason and you always have 'Dell Boy', and William Shatner will forever be James T Kirk. But here? Miss Aniston proves that she ain't just 'Friends'. As the title says; better than expected and I would recommend this film.

ot bad film, I wasnt expecting the ending till quite late on so that was quite good. Bit unbelievable but hey it passed the time.

Once it got going I was ready for the love interest 'couple-on-the-run' cliche. But no, there's a surprise here and the tension builds. You might, as I did, wonder about a certain criminal character's status – bossman or small time crook?. But all is made clear towards the end. Entertainiing throughout. I knew Clive Owen wouldn't have anything to do with a stinker.

Not a lover of Jennifer Aniston but was really impressed with this film. I do think it's a one time viewing though as have tried to watch it again and I just can't sit through it as you know the twist

The limp behaviour of the lead character really got on my wick. The baddie Vincent Cassell starts conning his family, yet he neither says nor does anything about it. This so annoyed me I turned it off. Later I decided to skim through it to see if it had anything of interest, and I am so glad I did. The movie suddenly changes gear, taking on a new appearance which is genuinely intriguing. No spoilers but keep watching. New to me, Cassells steals the show. A nasty piece of work.

I was surprised as how good this film was. Clive Owen was a bit wooden in his acting and the film was very slow to start with. Derailed speeded up after a while and the film wqas good.

Cleverly scripted and well acted, convincing and gripping drama about the blackmailing of a cheating couple. Even Xzibit's ridiculously overplayed charicature of a gangster and RZA's tongue in cheek acting manage to fit in fairly comfortably with the more studied efforts of Vince Cassel. Some might find it a tiny bit predictable, but well worth watching.

I ordered this movie on recommendation from 4 different people, so I was expecting something spectacular... Unfortunately my attention was lost and I found myself rewinding back to bits I hadn't paid attenion to (distracted by Clive Owen's weird accent). It was ok, and the twist I was warned to expect, wasn't actually as surprising as my friends would have led me to believe. Aside from that, it's probably the best thing I've seen Jennifer Anniston in since Friends.

This is an Okay thriller with a nice performance from Clive Owen but the sort he can do in his sleep. Jennifer Aniston is pretty but has very little to do. I guessed the plot twist within a minute and the end within five but along the way it wasn't the worst I have seen. The plotting reminded me of a computer program I had some years ago in which you clicked boxes and it randomized a story for you and if you entered the same points a second time but clicked Comedy instead of Thriller it came up with something different. Maybe I should dig it out and try my luck?

Not the best in the world, but you certainly don't get bored. It's a bit far-fetched, and old Clive is like a plank of wood, but I'd go as far to say it's a solid 3-star film.

Before you think this is another thriller just be a little cautious. Clive Owen demonstrates his skill as an all round actor and plays alongside Jenifer Aniston in what only can be described as brilliant. There are so many twists to this thriller and despite this the plot is really quite easy to understand. Owen (in my opinion should have been the latest James Bond) shows his ability to work with leading ladies in a credible manner. Aniston is courageous in her part. This film is action packed form start to end. You will be glad that you took the time to see this film and at the end wonder where all the time went – compelling!!

I can't remember if this film got good or bad reviews when it came out but I loved it. I really can't fault it for everything I would want in a thriller so I have to give it five stars. Someone more savvy than me might guess the twist in the plot but not me! I am not a fan of Clive 'talks like he has a tissue in his mouth' Owen either so it must have been good!

I'm not a Jennifer Aniston fan and initially I was not enthused by this film but after watching it for a while i was really enjoying it and in retrospect it's one of the better films I've seen recently.

To be honest i hadn't heard much about this film. I knew who was in it and that was about it. The wife suggested we put this on our list when we were making it for the first time. When it came through the door i was slightly disappointed as there were many other titles i wanted to watch. But once it was on i must admit i really enjoyed it. Some parts of it had me very frustrated and shouting 'WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?' or 'YOU SHOULD'VE DONE THIS!!!!!'. But all in all a good film. I highly recomend it.

This is a good all rounder.

I first thought that some plucky director had got Clive Owen on a 'buy 1 film job, get 2 free' given that we have this, the international and duplicity all hitting us at the same time therefore i had a sense of caution about this film.

Instead the storyline is incredibly original and the acting is excellent. I can't gve any of the story away but in 2 words :pleasantly surprising!

This is definitely a film worth watching, even if you don't like shoot 'em up rasberry Clive Owen.

Whar a brill film!! This film had me on the edge of my seat; I did not second guess the plot. After watching the film it only went to confirm my belief that you should always tell the truth. If your gut feeling tells you something is too good to be true, then it usually is. Very well scripted and portrayed by the main characters. A highly recommended film to watch.

This film was amazing, i have read other reviews from some members saying they didn`t like the movie (each to there own of course) but i enjoyed every second of it and the amazing twists and storyline kept surprising me, a must see film.

Well acted (although sometimes you et the impression that Owen is trying to be too laid back in the face of adversity) and certainly a great story line. Although the main plot is guessable, albeit only half to three-quarters way through, there are other twists that will keep you glued. Really enjoyable film - glad I watched it.

I don't give 5 stars very often, but this one definitely deserved it. Admittedly, you have to stick at it for the first half hour or so until the story stars to unwind, but after that it is a total roller coaster ride. To say that it has a lot of twists and turns is an understatement. The number of times I was surprised was very refreshing in a film. The acting was good and made a great thriller. I would highly recommend it and would gladly watch it again, even though I know what is to come.

After this had gome 3 minutes I realised I had read the book. I did not enjoy the book. Clive Owens and Jennifer Arniston did not come across as the characters in the book in the time I watched the movie. Enough said although I did watch about 20 minutes worth before I gave up on it.

In 1987 there was a film called Hands of a stranger. I have it on video. It starred beverly d'angelo and Armand Asssante among others. She had a one night stand with her kid's football coach in a sleazy hotel. Arliss howard in cahoots with the hotel manager breaks in to the room. He photographs them together, rapes her and blackmails her. Her husband [assante]is a cop who goes after the rapist. Its about three hours long and is by far the better story. Amazon's marketplace is currently selling it on VHS Now, is hands of a starnger from the same book or is the twist in derailed meant to disguise a blatant copy? Who knows. Try hands of a stranger for the better story

I have to admit I had my doubts about this film. But once you get into it. it has some really interesting twists in the film which make it one to watch.

Thrilling and unexpected. Jennifer Aniston plays a fantastic role in this action packed thriller, what a difference from her usual rom-coms. Clive Owen really gets going in his part and makes it such a believable character. This is definitely one to see.

The plot was quite good, twist at the end was well thought out. Acting was great from everyone except Anniston. No wonder she wants to get a Friends reunion on the go, thats the only thing she can do!!! I seriously couldn't watch her on screen, she was terrible at acting that part.

A very good thriller, even if it had a predictable twist. However,an entertaining couple of hours.Jennifer Anniston and Clive Owen execute their rolls very well. Similar to Fatal Attraction in many ways - BUT BETTER!

Clive Owen convincingly portrays an everyman who lives a life where every day is the same - until he unexpectedly meets a woman on a train and his life starts going off in new directions. When that turns bad, his old habits reassert himself: instead of forming a plan with built-in alternatives, or being a brilliant improviser (like so many other thriller heroes), he forms simple plans and is always at a loss when they fail. Other people feel that there are plot holes in this movie, but I feel that it just shows an everyman who is a slow starter, not the dynamic super-hero so many other protagonists turn into at the first sign of trouble.

I really enjoyed this thriller; Aniston was great playing a good part with depth. This film was clever in the way in lulled you in to a false sense of security by believing you were watching another 'passionate affair' flick, when it suddenly steps in a completely different direction with no warning! A real rollercoast ride of a thriller, which left you thinking after it had ended. I enjoyed this film & would recommend to everyone.

Jennifer Aniston is fantastic, there is a great plot and lot of twists.

One of the best films I have seen for years. Major twist I didn't see coming. When you think the film is over, there is more to come - proper rollercoaster ride. Highly satisfying ending too - Clive owen plays his part to perfection. Rent this and you will not be disappointed.

Really, this is such a good film. I wasn't expecting too much from it but it has some great twists and really grips you with the fast pace. It is well acted and I can't believe that more people haven't raved about this one. I sort of rented it by chance - don't let the chance of seeing this pass you by. Very, very good.

One of the best modern thrillers I have seen. Clive Owen is superb, not really been a fan of him, but he is showing his full potential here. A real twist at the end will have you on the edge of your seat. RENT IT! You will not be disapointed.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this fil. I live Jennifer Aniston and watch all her films. This was definatley a good one for her. The film gets you gripped almost right from the beginning, and then half way through there is a twist which you never saw coming and it makes the film even better. You will thoroughly enjoy this film. Highly recommended.

OK Film, nothing fantastic but very watchable.

I reckon we only get three or four good movies a year out of the film industry, and this has to be one of them. Clever stuff from start to finish, and just when you think you can guess the outcome I guarantee you won't see this one coming.

What an earth was this about! I started to watch the first half an hour on my own and stopped it because I thought it was something my phusband would also enjoy (up to that point). We sat and watched it and gave up after and hour.... It was slow and pointless, why oh why did these actors ever agree to it! It wa such hard work and we felt we had lost the will to live just watching it!

Obviously can't go into too much detail or will give plot away, enough to say very enjoyable film. You knew something was not quite right but couldn't work out what and it did keep you guessing. Good acting and good plot.

You should definately watch it. I am not a big fan of thrillers, so the first time watched it in cinema just to pass some time, and I was really gobsmacked. It keeps you tense all along until the very end. Very interesting and rather unpredictable story line. Good tease for your brain and nerves.

Thought this would be your average movie but was surprised with the twist in the story, never saw that one coming. Very watchable film.

An excellent film. A bit horrible at the beginning, i won't give it away, but it has an upredictable twist which is excellent. Jen Aniston plays really well in this serious role as a pose to all the silly ,daft girls she usually plays. Definitely worth seeing.

A fairly innocuous start, but the surprises then come thick and fast, unforeseen twists , reained the interest of a seasoned and cynical film watcher. Excellent performances all round, final surprise is that the critics didn't rave about this seriously above average quality thriller.

Went into this without any preconceptions but came out disappointed. Clive Owen is as usual good, but not his best film by a long shot... he does the best he can with a reasonably lame script, but Aniston is just bad and should stick to fluffy chick flicks. It is a thriller, but moves too slowly in the wrong places and then speeds up towards the end and becomes pretty unbelievable in the final twists and turns. Hitchcock this isn't, but it unfortunately tries to be and so lets itself down badly. In most cases of one good man against the odds type of films you feel sympathy for one or two of the characers along the way, sadly, in this film you don't. It is almost impossible to feel anything for any of them. It is perhaps also about time someone told Rap artists that if they want to cross into mainstream films then they at least need to learn to string a sentence together in some form or other, in this case Xibit... stick to 'pimping rides'! Not wholly bad as a movie, but don't rush to rent it... it really is just run of the mill.

This is a film best watched when you know a minimum about the plot and where its going. So what to write? Well acted, good script, neat twists that are not 'Malice' like in their dominance and a great conclusion, this is a film that in a single distressing scene you may reach for the stop button, resist and the story begins and keeps you gripped.... Dont read reviews, watch it!

this is one for all those men that have ever even thought of cheating on their mrs! trust me this will put you straight off!! it also took twists i wasn't expecting and an ending that really got me worked up and a bit of a cheer in there too! think clive owen and jenni anni are brilliant in this! it takes a lot for me to really get pulled into a film! but my pants could have been on fire and i wouldn't have budged! very impressed!!

This film is gripping from the start, in line with The Machinist. Clive Owen shines out in his role as good person, husband and father, caught up in a web that he must find a way to escape. A brilliantly put together film.

A promising cast, but unfortunately a poor film, with an obvious storyline and some terrible acting. Was bored with it after 15 minutes, when it became obvious what was going to happen, but still (foolishly) sat there watching it in the vain hope that it would redeem itself. Unfortunately it didn't and the acting got worse as the film progressed.

I love all films with Jennifer Anston in them as so I am slightly biased. However this is not her usual light hearted chick flick comedy. This film hits some serious issues about rape, black mail and affairs. Don't let the title fool you, this is not a film about a train crash as I had initially thought! I would recommend this film as it is full of twists and turns carried out by good actors. Rent this movie now.

I've watched predictable films and films with just plain dull plots that have been enjoyable because of amazing dialogue, charismatic actors, excellent use of pace and sound or cinematography. This film lacks every single one of them. What’s worse you don’t care what happens to any of the characters at any point, so the few dramatic moments have very little impact. Don’t bother renting this just because you’re a Jennifer Aniston fan, she gets very little screen time.

After watching Derailed I thought it was one of the best films I have seen in a long time. Totally keeps you on the edge of the sofa and just when you think there can not be any more suprises, there are!! Brilliant film, will definately buy my own copy. Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen were superb!

This was slick and never let up from the beginning. i knew something was not quite right, but did not imagine what would happen at all The acting was first rate. Loved it, seen it twice on DVD.

This is a really good film, with a great twist. Worth a look.

I as a good one for the couples as this film is will and should be liked by both sexes. It keeps you watching and even though you don't have to be genius to work out the twist, the story does not rely on the it and is far more about the emotions of one man as he make mistake after mistake. The good thing is you watch it thinking if I were him, I would be making the same mistakes. I would say this film is like a good boxing match with 12 solid rounds but just missing that great knock out at the end. You will still enjoy it but it does miss something you can quite put your finger on.

Couldn't bear to watch it all...

This film never really gets going. Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston are disappointing - as are the rest of the cast. This should have been a story which could have had you hooked but it lacked pace and doesn't grip you at all. I have given this a two star rating which I feel is generous.

Jennifer Aniston plays her role in this film so well, its so far from Rachel (Friends). Its great to see her in a believable film role where she isn't the rachel Green style character. Great plot, with a great twist at the end. worth adding to your list

Derailed exceeded all my expectations - it was supreme viewing. I am not a fan of Jennifer Aniston however she she was exceptional in this movie. Charles and Lucinder meet on a train, where a fling is just about to start, when an intruder bursts into the hotel room door and robs and rape, and that's just the beginning. The film is action-packed has thrills and exciting turn of events, that will surprise. Worth watching, very enjoyable, the story was unusual as well.

Unrealistic plot, lead charater make one bad decision after another. Gave up watching after 50mins and sent back!

I have just watched this film and i have found it amazing, the twist with Jennifer Aniston being a scammer is good, brilliant that she is getting out of her 'friends' role. The way all the details unfolded slowly it kept you hooked and sitting on the edge of your seat. I recommend that everyone should view this film!!!

Excellent movie if a little slow to get going. Yes of course there are some holes in the plot which make you yell at the screen 'no don't do it' but the finale makes sense of the plot moves eventually. JA is v good in another heavier role where she is not playing Rachel. Only complaint is that Clive (should have been Bond) Owen's character does vary between James Bond and Forrest Gump in terms of bravery, cool, and judgement. That apart the film leaves you feeling good with a suitable and valedictory ending.

With unconvincing characters and lethargic acting this should have been released as a 'made for tv movie'. It had real potential for being a great film but unfortunately didn't exude any feeling from the actors or 'edge of the seat' atmosphere.

Don't recommend this movie to anyone.

If you can get past the cliche', the unlikely story line and it's pedictablity it has a bit of a twist. However it doesn't make it a very good film.

Strikes me the title of this film is all too appropriate. It starts off brilliantly and is great stuff for the first half an hour or so, but then goes off the rails somewhere. There are too many wildly unlikely plot twists, some of them borrowed from other movies. Also Clive Owen is miscast as a timid advertising agent - he's just too cool and suave for the role.

Aniston fails to convince from her first moment on screen, although she seems to be acting her socks off: not smiling much, etc. Clive Owen is just bizarre. If you've ever seen a Hitchcock film,the twist is obvious within the first 10 minutes and, to be honest, not very clever. The characterisation is incompetent, lazy and relies heavily on stereotypes. This films tries to be edgy but descends into unintentional comedy. To summarise: it's 107 minutes of your life you won't get back. Don't do it!

I'm sure this film has been done so many times in the past and thats why it was so predictable. The acting was flat, slow moving and unemotional, I nearly fell asleep half way though. I probably should have!

I wasn't expecting a great deal from the cast of this film, but was suitably impressed: Aniston playing out of position as femme fatale was reasonably plausible. Clive Owen did well as a wimp with problems. Fast paced and violent.

Finally Jennifer Aniston shows the world that she is infact human and divorced by bedding somebody infront of a camera. There are wild rumours surounding her next release concerning a possible scene where she might/might not let one go in a bath tub. As for Clive 'the wooden man' Owen - my goodness I've seen scarecrows move faster than this lad - another generally average performance from a generally overated actor. Congratulations to Xzibit for another top notch Hollywood performance.

Oh dear! How did Clive Owen ever become a paid actor. I have not yet seen him in a convincing role. He is Clive Owen at all times. Wooden, monotone, no facial expressions. Jennifer Aniston was not bad considering it was quite a heavy role for her after her usual light hearted characters. Vincent Cassel was maniacal, very cool. Turned it off after about an hour, just couldn't cope with any more. And I'm sorry but I really couldn't empathise with two adulterous people who clearly wouldn't have had the hassle if they'd been at home with their spouses! Won't be watching any more of Mr Owen's work.

Watched this film for 20 minutes, and that was just to give it the benefit of the doubt. During that time nothing happened and there was no hint of a deepening plot - so I turned it off.

Having heard bad reviews about this film i wasn't expecting much and i was still shocked at how bad this film was! first off Clive Owen cannot do an American accent (and it shows), and secondly Jennifer Aniston cannot play a femme fatale. This film also has one of the worst scripts i have ever heard from a film, with the F word being spat out at every and any oportunity. believe me, having studied film this is one to stay well clear of. Just don't even bother considering this diabolical film!If you are looking for a good thriller look at any of Hitchcock's work or for a more recent film Collatoral by Michael mann.
