Mr And Mrs Smith  (2005)

No-one will win any Oscars for this one, and I'll probably have forgotten about this movie in a week. But while it's on, 'Mr and Mrs Smith' is a cracking piece of entertainment. We went to see it on the basis that Doug Liman had made three good pictures ('Swingers', 'Go' and 'The Bourne Identity') and the two stars are usually good value for money. The logic is sound. If you don't like Pitt's excitable boyish persona and Jolie's smouldering, slightly perverse image, you won't like this film. Virtually plotless, with one-liners instead of proper dialogue and built around a succession of effective set pieces, the film is built on the enormous charisma of the two stars, and that turns out to be more than enough. There are a few real surprises (like the ferocity of the Smith's fight with each other halfway through), some genuinely hilarious moments (listen carefully for the joke about 'Fantasy Island'), and it moves along at a cracking pace without ever really drawing breath. It's no classic, but who cares, the film's job is to entertain and it does that perfectly well.

this dvd is superb. The film starts with a bored couple, that go to a marriage guidance counsellor, in order to do something, to save their marriage. They seem a couple like many others, so immersed in their routine that they hardly pay attention to each other. John Smith (Brad Pitt) is an architect, Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie) works with computers. They have dinner at seven o'clock everyday, and don't talk too much. But, not all is at it seems in their apparently ordinary lives. As a matter of fact, both are assassins working for rival companies. Neither Jane nor John knows about the extracurricular activities of their other half, despite the fact that they have been married for six years. But soon enough they will find out, as both are assigned the same target, 'The tank' (played by Adam Brody). mayhem ensues. this movie is an action movie, with lots of guns, knives and bombs etc. the dialogue is sharp, and very funny at times, particularly when the Smith's are bickering. my husband's favourite line in the movie, was when Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie's character) said to John Smith, (Brad Pitt's character), 'Are you still alive, Baby?' . it is a classic. this film is well worth renting out.

This is an a-typical hollywood blockbuster summer release. It has all the right ingredients - beautiful people looking suitably beautiful, ridiculously over-the-top stunts, adrenaline oozing from every pore and a script that feels like it was written by the director's five year old son. If you like your movies loud and forgettable, you'll love this...if you expect anything more you will inevitably be disappointed, which in my book makes you an idiot. A good film to test out your new home cinema system.

Starts well but becomes a shambles due to a plot that any school kid could have written as their homework plus what's really wrong with this film - Brad Pitt isn't an actor. Where's the emotions? Not from any member of this cast will you see any emotions backing up their actions. For example you're a hostage tied up and 2 people are trying to get information from you - for no apparent reason you volunteer the info from your back pocket - you dont even say 'hey please dont shoot me' - you're a hostage but talk like you're round for a cup of tea - ie. no depth of character, no emotion. At 2 points in the film their feelings change for each other (mr and mrs smith) - these changes are handled with no investment in the characters by the actors - ie. they show us no emotional indications. The action is good and the effects are reasonable but I expected True Lies and got nowhere near that. True Lies will exist in my list of excellent action movies long after the memory of this film has gone. The film also ends very abruptly - this could be to ensure the audience wakes up. It is a film of many wasted opportunities for better acting, better dialogue and a better plot.

I can only wonder how Jennifer Anniston would feel if she ever watched this movie - she should do, it's ten times better than anything she's ever appeared in.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the perfect casting - hard to believe that Nicole Kidman pulled out, allowing her replacement a shot at one of the funniest action movies you'll see all year.

Our two main protagonists are excellent here - they ooze sex appeal, whilst the chemistry is clear for all to see. Luckily, the film also oozes class.

An interesting premise that could run out of steam holds together through some witty dialogue and brutal action sequences, whilst an excellent cameo from Vince Vaughn steals the majority of the best gags, but not the best.

There's still plenty here when he isn't though. This movie is sexy, fun, and action-packed from start to finish. If you can allow the final scene its room to breathe you shall be rewarded with one of the most entertaining films of the summer.

What a great film, the chemistry between Jolie and Pitt is obvious.

I don't know whether this is delibrate on the part of Pitt as an actor, but he brings a certain humour to his role.

Oh, and watch out for a great fight sequence with Brad and Angeline about halfway through.

IN A WORD ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE DID NOT SEE THE END

This may not be the very worst film I have ever seen in my life - but it comes pretty close.

I can forgive a film for being unbelieveable - or even preposterous - but this film was both these things without the element of fun or charm that would let the viewer ignore its faults.

Slick, forgettable dialogue. Two dimensional characters. Wooden acting. Zero chemistry between Brad and Angelina.

The list of negatives goes on. Hard to find a positive point, really. Even the premise of the two main characters being hired assassins was seriously icky rather than cool and exciting, as we were meant to believe. Do yourself a favour and rent Grosse Point Blank instead to see how a film like this should be done.

Very weak effort all round. Storyline is attrocious, utterly unbelievable (even for your average USA viewer). I really wouldnt waste your time on this.

You can't take this kind of film seriously!!!! There is some good chemistry between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (obviously!) a fairly far fetched plot, but some good adventure, special effects and humour to keep you entertained. I would say a good enough film for the summer and worth watching.

This is a film of two halves and two stars. It starts with a slow build up exposing the dull tedium of the marriage between Pitt & Jolie, with not much excitement, a few one liners and a smouldering restrained performance from Jolie. Then.. WHAM! BAM! the action, adventure, comedy and sexiness crash into the story like a runaway train and take you on an out of control journey with no pretence of any realism but plenty of fun. Pitt delivers a good comedy performance as a boy with his toys constantly out shone and out gunned by his better half. Lots of great set scenes full of enough eye candy for him and her and action film fans. The dialogue is limited to one liners but they are as sharp as the knife strapped to Jolies thigh, listen out for references to Jolies fake dad and fantasy island and their competitive body count. This is one to switch off too and enjoy, with the Mr or Mrs.

This film was very slow at the start and got better as it neared the end which was a pity. As I watched it I was reminded me a little of The War of the Roses. There was so much hype about the so called romance between the two stars but I didn't see much evidence of it on the screen.

Don't bother wasting your time with this, the acting was so fake, lacking emotion and the the storyline was disappointing.

This film just ooses charm.

How can a film starring two people who are together in real life not have any on screen chemistry. The film never really gets going and the action scenes are dire and dull and the whole film just stinks of being made 'by the numbers'. Two hours (TWO HOURS!!!) of my life have been wasted on this film and I urge you not to do the same.

This is a dire film - a preposterous story which is really just a showcase for the two main actors. Both of them are fine and look stunning but it descends into endless, computer game-style violence. don't waste your time

Only one word that can sum up this film - MASTERPIECE

With any other two leading actors, this film would have gone straight to DVD or failing that would not have even been made. Unfortunately however, it was made, and if you have the misfortune to sit through it I pity you. The film is totally implausible. Although I can accept the principle of two assassins being married without knowing what each other do, I can't accept the idea that their 'agencies' don't know about them both. Their agencies certainly can't be governmental, so therefore must be privately funded - by who?! The film is riddled with inconsistencies too. Brad and Angelina spend the best part of an hour punching and shooting each other and then when they're face to face neither can pull the trigger. People who like the film will say that I'm thinking about it too much. So if you don't like thinking too much, see this film.

Why was this film ever made? Ok, I have a pulse so I can understand why a film that had Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as the leads was made, but did it have to be this bowl of tripe? Unbelievable premise, poor script, slow non-exsistent plot line and, despite their subsequent relationship, there was no connection or chemistry between the two main actors. I even started to find them less attractive as struggled to watch it and stay awake! Only get this out if you're a fan and even then I recommend you watch it on fast forward with the sound down.

Totally lame, if you enjoy the worst Van Damme films then only you would like this. No story, just beautiful people running around shooting/blowing up stuff. I like action, but unlike other films such as Sin city, this had no edge or plot. Thought all the hype about it could be for a reason other than the true life romance, but i was wrong.

a bit slow to get going but definitely gets better as the story evolves. a great car chase and some humorous moments amongst the action. definitely a friday night film to unwind from the week

I cannot believe that this movie has an overall rating of five! This is the lamest movie of the year. The stars of the movie are of course gorgeous but that is where it ends. I highly recommend not watching this film as it is a waste of your time. Furthermore it is a waste of film, and big money that could have gone to poor starving children in africa...I couldn't wait for it to finish!

Classified as action/adventure/comedy/thriller 'Mr and Mrs Smith' is none of the above. A more accurate classification would be plodding/predictable/risible/boring because it is definitely all of the above. The 'plot' is beyond ridiculous and the 'action' scenes are anything but. In fact, they simply serve to show that even punishing gym routines cannot hide the fact that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are now of an age when it is extremely difficult to hide the podge. Both 'stars' treat us to the full range of their trademark poses and one-liners but neither Brad nor Angelina have the right touch for this kind of film. They both think they have, but their egos get in the way of the camp touch needed to make this kind of nonesense enjoyable. In view of the events surrounding the movie, I can only assume that any chemistry between Brad and Angelina was off set! 'Mr and Mrs Smith' is definitely one to avoid!

Starts off good, but the plot is not believable- why would 2 (married) people working for different US intelligence departments want to kill each other- just because they both work for the 'competition'- makes absolutely no sense at all.

Based on a great story (was it Prizzi's Honour?), husband and wife team are both secretly hitmen, and end up being contracted to 'hit' each other. Now there's a story with potential - action, humour, drama - what could go wrong ?? Well, get two major stars, and create a star vehicle that shows them off without being troubled by entertaining the audience. Acting is wooden, it's a hash of 'action by numbers' scenes that could be dropped into any film. No continuity, no story, no fun. A horrible pointless hollywood insult to film goers. I feel dirty having watched it.

.... this is the worst film I've seen in a long time. The acting is appalling, and the plot complete rubbish. If you just want to watch some grab and shove scenes of sexual attraction between the co-stars then it might be worth the effort, otherwise forget it!

I tried twice to watch this film and BOTH times I fell asleep!!! Could not possibly go through the ordeal of sitting through it for a third time to see the end, WHAT A BORE . . . . . . .

The two leads make this film as do some excellent bits of action, but I felt the climactic battle was poorly orchestrated and a bit of a let down. Overall definately worth watching.

I went to see this when it first came out at the cinema and I have to admit it was'nt as good as I remembered, still good film though!!! Theres a load of action and Angelina looks hot in some skimpy gear!!! The film was good dont get me wrong, but just wasnt like I could remember it, it seemed to drag quite a bit!!! In places it was a bit unrealistic but I htink thats what they went for!!! Its a hilarious action movie, question us, should those genres be put together???

I absolutley love angie, shes more then a god in my eyes. But even she couldnt save this flick. i was drolling throughout and yet wincing at the poorness of the film. It was sooooo studpid! They're meant to be in love, yet they think 'of F*** it, I'll try and kill my spouse for some cash' who wants to relate to 2 cold heartless rich gits? If u fancy either pitt or jolie then watch it for that but dont bother if you're after a good flick - it was really silly and unbelievable.

i'm baffled by all the semi - good reviews i'm reading for this movie. i'm not one of those people that expects too much from obvious blockbuster popcorn movies, but this was absolutely one of the most boring and pointless ones i have ever seen. it was neiter good, interesting nor funny. there are far better action/comedy movies out there, so rent this one as a last resort

Take two big stars, add one great director, spread with a liberal amount of cash and what do you get, a truly awful film. When I watched the Bourne Identity, which was one of Doug Lipmans previous films I really expected big things for this movie, and maybe that was my mistake and why this film really disappointed me. The Bourne Indentity was fast paced and had a cracking story to tell, but this was slow, boring and completely implausible. A real shame considering the talent that was involved in this film, maybe I am just expecting too much of a big hollywood blockbuster, but it would have been nice to think that the audience would have enjoyed watching this as much as clearly the cast enjoyed making it.

I gave this film one star because I couldn't give it zero stars. This was the biggest load of nonsense that I have ever had the misfortune to watch. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to put up the money to make such complete rubbish, nor to watch it! This film is a complete TURKEY!

I liked the basic if unlikely premiss of the film. A married couple who don't know the other is also an assassin. I quite like the way that the premise works as a mirror of typical marriage break down ( on steroids), which makes it both interesting a funny. I liked 'True Lies' and this offers something in a similar vein.

The down side after a very long warm up is the complete lack of a viable ending. Don't get me wrong I'm all in favour of a big Hollywood ending but this film fails to deliver the big resolution it promised.

This is a shame given that it wouldn't have been that difficult to actually deliver something and still remain in the strict Hollywood formula. This film was quite close to being a block buster, and it wouldn't have taken much to have got it into shape.

So yeah put your belief in reality out with the cat, watch it and then at the end have a glass and think of 20 better endings.

Lets just say I expected better, a big-budget movie with awesome special effects and a good cast working on it! Truth is, it was just to slow moving. The movie to begin with is very slow but gradually begins to pick up the pace when Mr and Mrs Smith realise who they have married! One amazing car sequence and a brilliantly shot ending scene nearly pushed my rating to 4 stars but considering the stars in it, cash spent and directed by 'The Bourne Idenity' director, Doug Liman, I expected much better and I guess so did everyone else, the reason why it didn't do to well! All in all, I agree with anyone who would give it a 4 star and it does deserve a watch or two.

Being a fan of Tomb Raider, James Bond and all of that sort of thing, I was really looking forward to this. It started off OK - but then went rapidly downhill. Ran out of (weak) story about half way through and then just filled the next 30-45 mins with a pointless gun battle/scene. This film was farcical to the point that I fell asleep during the action parts. I wanted to turn it off but just felt sure that there would be a great ending that would justify it all - sadly it never arrived. This really is not worth the effort - if you do get it just watch the first 45 minutes!

I watched this on a plane where I had nothing else to do yet I found it preferable to turn it off and stare at the blank screen instead. it was awful. I could feel my brain cells dying by the minute just watching this film. I would give it minus 5 stars if I had the chance. possibly the worst film ever made.

This could have been so much better! Didn't seem to go anywhere and took a long time to do what little it did! Got quite funny toward the end but by this time the manotony of the film has numbed the brian so much it is hardly appreciated! Worth a look as Angelina looks hot and i suppose so does Brad Ha Ha other than that dont expect much!!

I cannot comment on the entire film as it was so bloody awful i switched it off half way through. Very lazy film as they have put two big actors and very thin plot that was no good at all! Thought i would give it a chance as I usually ignore any bad press but be warned it will ruin any sat night in you have planned!

This film had some action in it but i would say its a let down. Angi and Brad really let me down.

What a total waste of time, the film lacked a story, no one knew who any one else was. Disjointed, just a series of SFX now and again and the usual pouting AJ. Don't waste your time with this film, unless you fancy Mr Pitt or Angelina Jolie.

Brad and Angelina play a married couple, both are hitmen/hitwomen (though they don’t know that each other are hit persons), then they are hired to take each other out. Just a showcase for Pitt and Jolie, first Pitt get’s a chance to show off and then Jolie. The storyline was ridiculous, I know it was a comedy but it was a little silly. Brad got the funnier part, something’s were quite amusing. As an onscreen couple they did look good together, I wonder if Jennifer has ever seen it because as far as I’m concerned this will always be the film where Brad and Angelina got together. Watch it, it’s ok entertainment, but do switch your brain off.

In my opinion this film is far too over the top, ok it was funny in parts but really its just a rubbish film with a big budget.

This was never going to be a great film, but it passes the time and JOLIE IS HOTTTTTT! Provides sexual equality on the lust front if nothing else.

I know many couples like them.............I couldn't help wondering thats how Brad and Angelina were attracted to each other, some parts were so excellent choreographed especially with the fighting...........Its kind of like a action packed chick flick........men can watch it but as my hubby was watching he did get a bored of it near the end. No regret for hiring this movie.

I wanted to write a review about this film, but it is such un-inspiring and forgetable crap, that I have forgotten what it was about..... Very disappointed!

There's nothing like a blooming good scandal to publicise a film and yes, I went to see this based solely on the did they/didn't they premise. Does that make me shallow and a media sheep...? Probably. Is there onscreen chemistry between Pitt and Jolie - you betcha! They fairly sizzle and rarely does a film have a more gorgeous leading couple where there is both eye-candy for the men AND the women (although my husband and his mate fell asleep half an hour in, sorry Angelina). The long-awaited nookie scene is short (they spend 90% of the film trying to do each other 'in' rather than getting it 'on') but satisfying. Be warned, its one of those films which is graphically violent but where everyone only suffers cuts and bruises. Sunday fluff. Baaaaa.

I was surprised how hard the critics have been about this. Sure, it's not high art but it's a thoroughly enjoyable romp and very well done. It's basically a tango - a kind of dance of sex and combat expanded into a plot - and the leads are great ... and not only to look at.

It is nice to see movies stars be movies stars in a summer movie that is actually entertaining, intelligent on different levels and without trying too hard like most summer failures this year (E.g Episode 3, Fantastic 4, Megdagascar, Batman etc). The whole movie is a metophor for marriage with 2 of the worlds sexiest stars at top of their game displaying enough sexual chemistry to makes aunty betty blush without the graphic sex (unfortunately for some). Yes the story is paper thin, but then it is fully utlized and is easily digestable like big mac with extra cheese. To many, that is delicious even though it has no nutricient value, but you wouldn't mind having it again. To others who want 100% angus beef burger, you simply looked at the wrong menu.

This film was so bad that when it finished my girlfriend and I looked at each other and started laughing. It was just a vehicle to get Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together on film. The plot is so full of holes its like Swiss cheese. A lot of the stunts are just not plausable, and the ultra modern highly technical, highly professional all girl hit squad idea is just embarassing.

I feel so cheated, i was really looking forward to seeing this. The build up and general idea sounded promising, two top stars in the title roles.......... but sadly there was no connection with either of the characters, and when you find yourself 40 minutes into the film hoping they will both get killed you know it's not gonna be top of your hit list. Some people may find this enjoyable but i thought it was a total load of junk. Right up there with Robin Hood - Men in tights!

Funny. Sexy. Exciting. Chemistry between Pitt and Jolie. Storyline bit lacking but who cares?! Entertaining, good date movie!

The films runs with the speed of a snail, far far too slow for me.

Unless you’re a big fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and are quite happy to watch a movie that’s entirely devoted to finding the best camera angles to make the pair of them look gorgeous, don’t bother to rent this film. as someone else said on here, simply a vehicle for the two stars to get together thus creating vaccuous, empty, terrible film. The fact that the jolie is on screen quite a lot makes up for it but doesn't save it. If your after a rewarding, thought provoking film then avoid at all costs.

Take two classy actors (Jolie and Pitt) and give them an action packed film and you have a hit. Unfortunately there wasn't enough storyline to challenge these two into great acting, but they do a good job and the ACTION is certainly HOT! Entertaining but not really believable.

I was'nt looking forward to this film i thought it would just be another boring film, but i was completely surprised it was what going to the movies is all about exciting and throughly entertaining from start to finish and very funny. The way they interact when they begin to discover what each other does, is brilliant and you have 2 stars who are so cool on screen its like they dont act its just natural, if you want to be entertained watch it, if you are looking for shakespeare then get therapy,movies are to entertain this film does

So there's these two beautiful people right, who both think the other leads a normal life, but in fact both are mercenaries / hitmen/women. So they pretend to be interested in curtains and stuff whilst doing a bit of assasination on the side. It's all a bit 'can you pass the salt' boring at first. Then the truth emerges, and they have a bit of a barney, butsin' up the house and stuff. But then, oh my god, they like each other after all, so become a two person army who take on hundreds of bad guys at once. So it's kinda True Lies (which is better) mixed with War of the Roses (which is better) plus a dash of Tomb Raider (which was bet...hang on, maybe not). And they have some therapy. Bit of a mess really.

Yet another blockbuster with no redeeming features. Was there any point in making this film? There is no plot to speak of, the characters are bland, unbelievable, and stupid. The best conclusion to this film would be if the two stars had managed to kill each other. If you are a 10 year old boy then maybe you will be able to watch this film to conclusion, but I wouldn't bother.

Cant live with em, Cant shoot em! Every couples secret fantasy! - no not Brad and Angelina, to fight like cat and dog inflicting maximum effect and not actually breaking a single nail or moving a hair out of place and get away with it. Had the original idea of a blockbuster and I was really looking forward to watching it but obviously there was more going on off screen than on it. The dvd has the trailers on and it still looks a good film - my advise is to stick to the trailer Dont watch the deleted scenes after the film they are enough to make you jump.

This film never really engaged me. The characters seemed lightweight and the plot was so transparent I found myself looking through the film and wandering off into a daydream. The action sequences were put together well but almost seemed to be bolted onto the rest of the movie. The main characters relationship could have been developed more and in the end it left me with a feeling of 'is that it?'. Promised a lot- but didn't really deliver.

The two leads work well together with a good combination of action and comedy. Doesn't disappoint. Quality!

I was really excited to watch this film with two massive hollywood stars in, big mistake! This film has just been made on the premise that it has A-list celebs taking the lead roles. The story line has more holes than swiss cheese and is alot less interesting. I also found it hard to work out whether it was a comedy or not as I didn't laugh much and was more hoping that the baddies would win and the film would end.

Maybe it was because it was Sunday afternoon and I watched it with some younger people than myself but I really enjoyed this! It had just enough action and was just the right length for the storyline in my opinion. Also helps to have low expectations before watching I've learned, that way it'll ALWAYS turn out to be better than you thought lol!

Enjoyable shoot me up, which gets a bit silly in the middle. Heavy duty weaponry with bullets that just seem to miss Mr & Mrs Smith(baddies are firing blanks, again)- a couple of handguns obliterating numerous machines guns. Once you get past that -not half bad

Don't even bother with this rubbish. It had one decent car chase and that was about it.

Everything James Bond isn't. This film was pacy with great sfx. The leads characatured modern day relationships with many witty references to couples with competing work pressures. This was layered over the incredible sexual chemistry of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Like watching a Jennifer Lopez movie (if you are a man) you will keep watching this just because Angelina Jolie is so beautiful it almost hurts. Apart from this the film is so disappointing...it has all the makings of a great movie idea starts out ok then it just decends into farce and folly when it could have been so good. Like most of the hollywood stars today they are just counting the money...if you want to watch a totally unrealistic film this year and say at the end say rubbish... this is your movie.

If it was not for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie I would give this two stars. Visually they make it worth watching. The idea of the film is good, but falls well below its potential due to poor scripting. The initial idea itself is not made credible enough and does not fulfill its potential either. The film leaves you feeling you could have made better use of the script yourself. A good shoot em up film for the teenagers perhaps, but too little thought behind it to really satisfy much beyond that.

this film struck me as quite pointless almost a shall we take 2 big stars with sex appeal and make a movie. i felt that all the best bits had been shown in the trailers and that watching the actual film was a complete and utter waste of time

ok, forget the whole Pitt/Aniston/Jolie saga and watch this film because it is brilliant, there is an obvious chemistry between Pitt and Jolie and this just adds to the film, the action sequences are well choreographed and have an added twist of humour to them, yes it is a similar storyline to Prizzi's Honor, but that was over 20 years ago so please don't compare them!! all in all a very good enjoyable film.

I like action and my wife likes romance, this film could have been the perfect blend - it was actually neither. The action is badly put together and unengaing, and the romance is limp. The millions spent on this could have been more usefully employed on two good films that knew what they were trying to achieve.

I rented this film as I always enjoy Brad Pitt's performances, but even he could not save this from being a flop.In my partner's words 'it's a load of twaddle'. Brad Pitt is one of the most gifted actors (12 Monkeys, Kalifornia) of this generation and it is sad that he would being involved in a film as BAD as this one. Avoid.

OK, so I rented this film for the curiosity value of seeing Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt together in a filn and I wasnt disappointed! It was a rollercoaster of guns, explosions and lust and god knows how Brad Pitt made that film and expected Jennifer Aniston to believe he wasnt desperate to sleep with Angelina at that point! Very funny, exciting and well worth it!

But I do - So did the wife - Its SO toungue in cheek. Trying to be true lies - a 2006 version!!

Were you waiting for this film to make it to DVD? Me too. I cannot fault the slick filmwork or the half decent acting, but no real script and a step too far into non realistic action scenes had me having to concentrate real hard on enjoying the film. I did make it though! If you can hold your nerve through scenes with less credibility than MIB or MI/MI2 for realism then you will be able to sit back and enjoy the action with a bowl of sugary popcorn.

When I watched trailers for this film I immediately assumed that this film would be total hollywood rubbish. poorly scripted with a pointless storyline thinly disgused by effects and snazzy camera angles. My girlfriend however thought that the film looked good (thanks to the inclusion of Brad Pitt, I am sure). After sitting through the film at the second time of asking (I fell asleep the first time) I can confirm that my initial suspicions were right on the money. This is one of those films that appears to have been made purely to make money for the studio. Of course, all films are shot in order to make money, but whilst some attempt to tell a story or bring something creative to the screen, others exist only to part cinema goers from their hard earned cash. I truly beleive that this is film making by numbers. Employ two big name sex symbols in the lead roles, give them big guns and use super slo-mo camera work whilst the actors shoot anything that moves. The fight scenes are so choreographed that you could be forgiven for thinking that they are actually busting moves on the dance floor. I don't think there is any reason for Mr & Mrs Pitt to worry about what they are going to be wearing at the Academy Award Ceremony on the strength of this performance.

Don't listen to the other reviews mocking this film - these same people will try to tell you that Lord of the Rings is fantasy and that The Incredible Hulk is not really THAT strong - pah! I recommend nature documentaries for plausible plots, the 6pm News for believable 'facts', and movies for E-N-T-E-R-T-A-I-N-M-E-N-T.

I wish I'd read previous reviews! A few glossy action set pieces cobbled together with no plot and rubbish dialogue. Only mildly endearing aspect was the interviews to camera a la 'When Harry Met Sally'.

This movie had me lauging out loud at the parody of infidelity. Anyone who has ever kept a secret from their partner should find this funny too. Those looking for an assasin tragedy movie would do better to view Leon or La Femme Nikita. Those looking for a light comedy should find this a movie that fits the bill.

The film seemed to be made up from parts of other films i.e. True Lies, The war of the Roses, Bonnie and Clyde and at the end I thought of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. You need to watch it to see.

Well, i didn't think it was as bad as i had heard. Mr & Mrs 'Pitt' sort of tango with each other to see who will back down... or get killed first, in a film that really is a mixed bag of comedy, action, thriller & adventure ! If you want to watch some light hearted entertainment then this is fine and you'll probably enjoy it, but if you want something with a good storyline/believable plot then you may be a bit disappointed and would be best to watch something else. Good acting, great film - the chemistry between them is intense (poor Jennifer). Found it interesting to think that Jen's ex is in the film with his current beau & her current beau (Mr Vaughn). This much hyped union of Angeline and Brad is nothing special and whilst it has it's moments, such as the car chase, in general, even in a genre where belief has to be suspended, this goes too far with thousands of bullets being fired at the dynamic duo, they remain virtually scratch free. The stunts and set peices are as professional as you would expect from a big budget movie but overall it's nothing to write home about and I suspect it's box office figures derived from the sex appeal of it's two leads.

Half hour into this and I had enough, thought there must be something useful round the house I could do. My wife decided to stick it out to the bitter end - and wished she hadn't. Predictable story, wooden acting, selling only on the lead actor/actress appeal. If you have a couple of hours spare and fancy some light entertainment - don't bother with this one, unless you can switch your brain off.

I had wanted to see this movie for the longest time, mainly because it starred Brad Pitt, but I also wanted to see the on-screen chemistry between Pitt and Jolie. I had read the reviews and was slightly put off as there didnt seem to be much good said about the movie, so i prepared myself for the worst. Actually, the movie isnt that bad. There is loads of shooting and stunt action and combined with the odd laughs now and then, i would say this was a very entertaiing movie. Certainly no where near one of his best - by a long shot - but you will probably find this movie entertaining in the very least.

1 star is too many for this load of rubbish. How Angeline Jolie can call herself an actress is beyond me. Sad Pitt can act but even he cannot make this tripe watchable. Have to agree with other low raters I'm afraid. Everything about the film was disappointing. It was embarrassingly cheesy. I felt like I had wasted my time watching it. It was not my cup of tea, accepted, but it was a poor cup of tea at that. A waste of 2 good actors.

This film is so full of holes that I'm not sure where to start. Is it an action film? For about 10 minutes. Is it a thriller? Not really. Is it a comedy? Once or twice. Does it know what it's trying to be? I doubt it. Someone obviously said 'we need a vehicle for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, what have you got?'. And you know what? Neither one of them is a good enough actor to save a pretty poor film. There are good bits but wading through the dross to get there just isn't worth it. Do yourself a favour and rent a different movie.

This film is clever in so many ways. Firstly there’s the way the film is shot to look like a domestic argument between husband and wife, all be it a little more extreme than a normal argument. Secondly the casting, this film in my personal opinion couldn’t have been made with out the chemistry of an actual off screen couple like Brad & Angelina. They just work so well together. This film has enough action to satisfy the gents and enough romance to satisfy the ladies. Well worth 2hrs of your life. : oD

Silly far feched film but quite enjoyable and watchable romance.

John (Brad Pitt) and Joan (Angelina Jolie) meet during the collapse of a South American country. He thinks she's a computer programmer and she thinks he's in construction. As their lives devolve into a matrimonial state of quiet desperation, one exacerbated by the inability of either to ever discuss their jobs in that unique way that married people have of abusing one another, you get the sense that they're thinking of killing each other even before their respective organizations require it of them. The reveal happens midway through the film, after John and Joan have each had a chance to demonstrate how they seduce men with their charm and good looks, they're pitted against one another in a sequence that rivals the last hour of The War of the Roses in domestic deconstruction. Early arguments over new curtains and passing the salt play as tight subtext here and are paid off in a quiet 'I missed you today, honey,' and 'I missed you, too.' Clever to the point of dry, Mr. and Mrs. Smith astonishes a little in that for as irresponsibly exhilarating as it is for long stretches, its best parts are the little ones where John and Joan realize that while almost every marriage develops a layer of dust, their dust has settled on something as quaint and bedrock as love. All in all a slow to start but picked up by the end not a bad film but could have been better

i thought this was a serious type film but to my enjoyment it has a lot of comedy intertwined with a good story line. the only disappointment was the ending it was a bit limp. but overall a good movie to watch

Well this is the film that made Bradd Pitt fall in love with Angelina Jolie! I am not surprised with all the sexually creative action of trying to kill each other when they would rather have a leg over! Sexually charged scenes of belting the living daylights out of each other, sexually frustrated tension.... you can imaging what there own sex is like..WOW. They even have the same sexy lippy pout! Good special effects with all the Blowing everything in sight up scenes but the storyline stinks as it is so stupid.

There was some funny bits, but most was not as funny as it was made out to be. If you like films with lots of shooting and not much else, you'll like this.

Easy watching but it would never happen!!

Really surprised Brad Pitt stoops to this - although the pay off was the new missus I guess. Angelina is just Lara Croft in Marigolds. Its just Hollywood formulaic violence - where the heroes appear to have a force field around them, where the others can't shoot for toffee and no-one pays much attention to a gun battle resembling the Alamo taking place in their street. Standard shots of lock and loading new ammo, throwing yourself thru the air whilst firing and hitting targts (of course)Actually - having said all that - I watched it all thru and reasonably enjoyed it but still can't believe an actor of Brad Pitt's quality would even consider this

Well ... it starts well. Funny 'married couple' jokes, good characters, promising story line ... and then it just descends into madness. By 30 minutes in, I was watching the clock to see how long it had to go. And it didn't get any better. I wouldn't bother wasting your time.

This movie is in no way to be taken seriously just enjoy it for the movie it is. The action is great and the 2 leads Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hold their own well. Their chemistry is what makes the movie. The fun comedy moments are worth watching!

Great action film, where the action outweighs the lack of intelligent plot. It's just so cheesily funny. It's not meant to be taken seriously and I feel sorry for the people who thought it was going to be serious. They didn't get what they expected and were rightly disappointed. You will only enjoy it if you expect it to be shallow in plot and funny in nature OR if you had no idea in the first place and are just taking a chance.

I still cant believe all the hype that the media built up 4 this film, the so called chemistry, sorry people i couldn't see alot of it myself! This film was worse than rubbish, still struggling to find the right word. Dont get me wrong brad is a good actor, especially in a film like SPYGAME and even SNATCH, but this aint the best. Even with jolie, good looking does NOT equal good actress, get over it! She was good in the bone collector, but i really dont rate her. Me and my boyfriend did the same thing as adam smith when it were over, we looked at each other and just laughed, in disbelief!! My advice, if u aint watched this, then trust me... DONT BOTHER!!!

This is probably THE WORST film I have seen in a long time. Utter Utter rubbish. Implausible plot, impossible cartoon style action sequence and wooden acting from two reasonably talented stars. Apallingly high body count. We even get to see the two leads beating one another up in an extremely violent sequence all set to highly inapropriate music. Domestic violence meets hip hop. A disgrace. This film represents every thing that is wrong with Hollywood at the moment. Avoid at all costs.

With Jolie and Pitt as the stars of this film I thought it would be very enjoyable. It is - after about the first hour. The film takes an age to get going but when it does it's 'OK'. Not one I would truely recommend.

Too many unrealistic shooting scenes where nobody gets hurt, etc. and their beautiful faces and bodies stay intact!! Am I jealous - probably, but the film would have been worse without the famous stars. Still, if you fancy watching a film without having to think and love Bratt or Ange, then it is great!

I was really looking forward to seeing this film. I found it to be extremely disappointing Pitt and Jolie's worst film to date. The storyline was predictable and you know the ending of the film before its even got there.

This film is awful and I actually felt a little sick when it got to the scene where Brad Pitt is standing over Angelina Jolie kicking her. It was at that point that I turned it off and sent it back. I think it was trying to be humorous but it fails badly.

Brad and Angelina's fight scene is possibly one of the most memorable fight scenes of recent years - particularly as they demolished half the house in the process!! The plot isn't the best thing of the movie but it manages to keep you interested until the end - but its not the plot you watch this movie for its the action and the chemistry between Brad and Angelina!

Not bad, lots of action scenes, reminded me of True Lies in some ways but with husband and wife being with opposite agencies ! Well worth a watch. 3.5 stars if it were possible.

Mr and Mrs Smith I thought was entertaining but not as good as it could have been. Some good action parts with a bit of comedy put into it. Thought the violence between Mr and Mrs Smith was a bit sick as it downgraded domestic voilence into entertainment. This film was definitely helped by having two such well known and drewelled over leading actors otherwise it would have been not as good as it was. Worth watching for a bit of mindless entertainment!

Surely the only reason anyone watched this film was to see the (overrated) chemistry with Brangelina; hammy script, over-the-top acting and unbelievable characters had me staring at my watch willing the minutes to pass after the first few minutes. Avoid unless you're watched every other film made (including Swept Away and Glitter).

I personnally didn't enjoy it that much, the hype around this film is beyond comprehension but my boyfriend on the other hand had a good laugh.

Wasnt sure whether to go for a 2,3 or 4 star rate on this one. I enjoyed it but I think you have to be in the mood to watch it. It starts off quite slow but eventually gets better. Some of the scenes are a bit OTT - 2 people fighting the rest of the world with only a tiny sratch to show for it -if you know what I mean - but watchable.

A newish idea on the movie scene. Good fun good entertainment good action. In some ways not very plausible but it has its moments. Both Brad Pit and Jolie are very watch-able, some great action. Check out Jolie in the bin liner outfit. Wow! There is nothing new or particularly special here three stars.

This film was just awful, terrible plot with vast holes in it. Ok the fight scenes were pretty cool in parts but that was it. this film has probably only been watched due to the hype surrounding Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie's relationship..... the storyline could have been good i guess, and since Vince Vaughan is in it maybe more of a comical theme to it.... the ending was totally pointless and not believable at all. if you have nothing else to do then watch it, but if you're into your films then i think you'll be disappointed.

This film has been panned by a lot of people, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Ok, so its not going to win any oscars and the plot is ludicrous, but suspend disbelief and you may just enjoy yourself!

The premise of this movie sounded great and it certainly began well. However, it started getting silly when they both tried to kill each other (and kept trying) and reminded me more of a Tom and Jerry cartoon. I think it would have been better if the beginning premise (with both characters being spies separately without the other realising it) would have continued for most of the movie.

Pitt and Jolie: sizzling hormone brew between two gorgeous specimens, i.e. rather predictable. And yet it had me smiling a lot as it's tongue-in-cheek family entertainment. Our ten year old son LOVED it, and wanted us to buy it. We agreed to one quarter of the price if he paid for the rest. And that just about sums up the film is for adults: amusing enough, but certainly not worth buying. Watch it if you are feeling a little brainless one evening.

The plot is thin, the jokes well the plot is the only joke. Jolie fails to be funny and brad character lacking in delivery of humour, direction, The characters are the most uninteresting hitmen/woman ever. The action is thick and on occassion fast, but its all pointless. The supporting characters are so dull, you will nod out, they tend to be either walking dumbies for action scenes or poor comedian stand ins playing dumb. The details are so far fetched, how could people operating this kind of hiteck equipment be dumber than a bag of hammers its just not plausablie even in America There are some nice shots of Manhattan thats about it really.

Story started well, better than expected given all the publicity around the film and the off-screen relationship between Brad and Angelina, which I had tried to ignore. However the plot slid progressively along the Hollywood 'larger than life' track and dived for a while, only to pick up towards the end of the film after what I thought was a pretty violent domestic fight, particularly for a PG rated film. In fact given all the sexual language and references throughout the film, am really surprised the rating wasn't higher. Glad I didn't watch this with my nephews. Not for the romantics.

What on earth has happened to Brad Pitt? Is this really the same charismatic actor who made such an impact in 'Thelma & Louise?' It seems he's lost both his looks and his acting ability. I watched 45 mins of 'Mr.& Mrs. Smith' and it was 45 very long minutes, after which time I gave up. Obviously there is a market for this kind of film, and for fans of the kind of films Angelina Jolie usually makes. But it was her film, not Brad's, which is self sacrifice taken too far.

The basic plot - concerning a married couple who, unknown to each other, are both hired assassins working for different organisations - is an amusing one and the two leads have a lot of fun with it. However, the story becomes (even) more improbable as it progresses, culminating in the kind of ridiculous shoot-out which Hollywood can't seem to resist (hopelessly outnumbered heroes blazing away without even aiming, heavily armed opposition only there to drop like flies). At the end, unsatisfying.

This film proves that you can have the hottest names in Hollywood, an unlimited budget and still produce a film that I couldn't even sit through until the end. This film is a superficial, glossy, soulless, narrative deficient bore. Pitt is wooden Jolie is some sort of pouting cliche of a femme fatale and as a couple they are barely credible (strange that one........) SO, unless you want to be bored rigid I would avoid this like the plague.

I didn't think I was going to like this film so was prejudiced against it from from the offset. However, I was surprised by both the film plot and the acting from Pitt and Jolie. The film contained humour and intense moments. My friend and I ejoyed it a great deal and would recommend it as a good and enjoyable film.

But only just! Most of what comes out from the U S is over hyped and fails to deliver a worthwhile storyline, and this is no exception. There will be those that think this is a good film, but not me. Not for those who like a gripping plot.

lots of action, good fx, but as usual beutiful people never get dirty or killed. So the plot is rather predictable. a bit like a huband and wife Bond movie.Quite a thrill with added comedy.

My word this film dragged, having watched the trailers that offered so much promise and having watched nothing but horrors for weeks as tesco seem to enjoy sending films of exactly the same genre in a consecutive order my wife and I were really looking forward to good old action/comedy. Mr and Mrs Smith was fully of action and the build up although a little slow was interesting but sadly the film just did not grip us, after the first hour had passed we had lost interest, the film just never seemed to end. Loads of unrealistic action scenes, each drawn out to their absolute limit and beyond, the film was neither funny nor was it particularly entertaining. It is very hard to describe where the film went; it was almost stuck between two films and succeeded at neither of them. 2 Stars.

Ok folks, let me tell you what to do when you get this film. Switch the brain off, sit down, strap in & prepare for a trip into a funny, thrilling fantasyworld, because that's what you'll get. Please, don't wonder why it took the companies the spies work for 5 (or 6) years to find out their people were married to each other. Just laugh at the way that even two people who make that commitment still aren't honest with each other, & still see things differently, hence the dispute in the number of years, while enjoying the rip-roaring action as they find out the truth about each other. The car argument is a classic!!! So is the way they can't tell the neighbours... Have fun!!!

Well told story of a married couple and the secrets they keep from one and other. Only theirs are bigger than most! The use of jumping between different times in this couples relationship is extremely effective. As is the use of martial arts, weapons and humour. Although not normally keen on Angelina I thought this was a role that she suited and played well. Brad is also on form, as usual. If you're part, or all, of a married couple and don't mind a lot of violence and some swearing you'll love it! Thoroughly enjoyable and made me laugh out loud several times.

Even for action films this film fell very short of anything even somewhat decent. You put two beautiful main actors in a movie and put lots of action to it, surely that will reel the folks in? Yes, but it won't make it a good film and certainly won't make it worth watching for a second time. The plot got really silly towards the end, this has got to be the most superficial nonsense of a film I have ever seen. Watch it for the great eye candy, but don't expect any more than that because you will be disappointed.

This film had, for me, had a lot of pre conceived expectations, especially with Angelina and Brad's now public relationship. The world waited with breath that was baited to see if the chemistry between the now two lovers was not only apparent, but also 'electric.' I'm pleased to say that the film did not disappoint, not in my eyes anyways. There were certainly times when there were something more than character acting in their glances. As far as the actual film goes, it was very good. Oddly, the beginning and the end were the best parts, the middle was a little slow although you get so caught up in the action sequences etc that you don't really care. A film that i shall certainly be watching again.

Having seen this film at last you can see how the attraction between Brad and Angelina developed - they have a great chemistry starring alongside each other. A funny film rather than one being based around the action sequences. Gave me a few good laughs.

Like the other reviews said, this film is instantly forgettable but quite watchable. Vince Vaughn is hilarious though, as a hitman that still lives with his mother.

The basic plot is an enjoyable twist on the AS / JLC film TRUE LIES but lacks the humour and chemistry between the leads and, indeed supporting cast. This lack of chemistry between BP & AJ leaves you not caring if either, neither or both of them die at any point in the film. At one point I was hoping both of them would expire and get it over with. It's definately a film of two halves and it does improve in the second half. Put aside all the hype and stories of what happended on set and you're left with a pretty entertaining film. The film has its tongue firmly in its cheek and has some supereb action set pieces throuhout. A relaxing way to spend a couple of hours.

Loved every minute of this film. Not sure whether it was Brad or Angelina's acting skills that pulled you along or their chemistry together. You just feel you want to see the film through to the end. Almost 2 hours of sexual chemistry and guns. Sounds like a good recipe but it falls flat. Plot is dodgy at most and action is too far-fetched with a compulsory love-scene thrown in for good measure. If you're looking for some eye-candy and mindless action, then you may just enjoy this open display of flirtation. Poor Jennifer.

A surprisingly tedious performance by its star-studded cast. Completely farcical story line. Switched it off 2 thirds of the way through because got so bored with it.

The premise sounds exciting, and I bet it's all wonderful on paper - and it could've been on screen too - if it wasn't so damned long! The performances are first rate and it runs like a slick movie, but the length kills it faster than Jolie's bullets. The story then becomes stretched and waferthin, so nothing can save us now! Some pretty could ideas for movie studying (the whole crumbling of the marriage; the sexual fighting sequences between the leads; and not to mention the whole chaotic 'I'll save you back' sequence that probably reflects life) - it just doesn't have many marks for entertainment value. Better luck next time, guys!

I thought the only good bits about this film was the parts were things were exploding and people were trying to kill each other. The script was rubbish and the acting was not excellent either.I reccomend getting troy or Tomb Raider for a better film.

Silly, noisy and hammy twaddle which relies totally on the star appeal of Jolie and Pitt. Great if you're an obsessed fan of theirs, a time-waster if you're hoping for a logical plot, interesting script or decent acting.

Personally, I enjoyed most of the film even though some of the scenes were far fetched and were funny (probably not meant to be!) The action scenes were well worked out but again, went from good to hilarious (again, probably not meant to be). I think this is likely to be more watchable for us boys than the girlies. Best to watch when not much on the box.

I watched this movie on a plane - it was so utterly boring that staring at the seat in front of me proved more entertaining. It just drags on and on, both actors are appalling, and there isn't even that fun, mindless entertainment factor that you get from the usual chickflick/cheesy Hollywood movies. I've given this movie one star, but only because there wasn't an option for zero stars.

Great action and tension. It's the long awaited film after the Brad and Jen split, and this film certainly has sexual frustration built in. Well worth tuning in to see what the fuss is about. It's almost as if the film was written to tear the marriage apart.

If this is what got them together then it looks to me they are in trouble. I did not fine the love story convincing.

What a waste of Angelina Jolie ! It's an action adventure for the kind of person who wants to become a guard at Abu Ghraib prison when they grow up. Brainless and pointlessly violent. What a cliche to see two people back to back holding an automatic weapon in each hand and firing at anything that moves. How many times have you seen that in a movie ?

From Doug Liman (director of The Bourne Identity, Swingers and Go), Mr. & Mrs. Smith has the basic story of John and Jane Smith, two assassins who are married but do not know the other one is also an assassin. They then receive their next assignment: to eliminate each other! A very good film, which is great fun, very entertaining, has an adequate plot, and a good cast. It also has some fine action throughout, is funny, and Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are both very good in the main roles (with Vince Vaughn good but under-utilised and Adam Brody sadly barely used).

This is a film where you can sit back grab a beerand turn your brain off . Very enjoyable movie.

Any one who rated this film with more than 2 stars must be a complete idiot. If you consider yourself an intelligent person do not watch this rubbish.

Should have been a fantastic, fun movie, there are some excellent ideas and glimpses of what could have been very clever, witty set pieces, but instead it just seems lazily put together. Unless you really, really fancy one of the stars I wouldn't bother, watch a decent movie instead.

I find it hard to describe this movie to be honest as it is unlike any other movie I have seen. I did enjoy the comedy side to the movie but it was strange because they acted that they had no emotions for each other, which they did well, but the story line was a little blurry. Saying that the action scenes were pretty good and at the end of the day it’s worth a watch if you like Angelina Jolie.

Suspend disbelief and let a mindless spoof wash over you. Just don't expect to feel fulfilled at the end!

It was worth getting out, I was impressed with the comedy in this movie. Brad and Angelina worked well together and had a chemistry on as well as off the screen. This was really good laugh and action. Was worth the wait. I also think that they should have picked Brad for the part of 007.

I wasn't quite sure of the plot before hand, but thought I might enjoy it as I thought it was probably going to be fairly cheesy! Seriously though, don't bother wasting 2 hours of your life watching this rubbish!!

The only interesting thing about this film is the central premise of husband and wife assassins hired to kill each other... and they stole that from Prizzi's Honour. If you find the idea interesting watch Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner in the original, as it wipes the floor with this update.

There are some nice stunts and a little humour, but you simply don't engage with the characters or believe in any of it, which means that eventually you don't care what happens to either of them.

The final shoot pays homage to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, but I couldn't help wishing they'd kept the ending the same too and killed Brad and Angelina off in a hail of bullets.

This has to be one of the most pointless films I have ever watched.

I was prepared to hate this film, so was pleasantly surprised when I didn't!! The chemistry between Brad and Angelina is obvious and I must say I enjoyed both their performances (which is unusual because I don't usually rate Brad). Its one of those films. Don't think about it and it’s OK and will while away the time quite pleasantly, but if you start to look at in any way as if it is a 'good' film then you'll tear your hair out over how stupid it actually is and hate yourself for wasting two hours of your life.

This is a light hearted, tongue in cheek affair but it was missing the vital grab factor to keep me glued. The plot is ridiculous quite deliberatley so (I think) and tries hard for laughs. Unfortunately, it falls short on most occasions. Worth a random view but not one I'll revisit again.

Entertaining nonsense from Pitt and Jolie that passes the time enough to keep you happy. In some respects this is not dissimilar from War of the Roses but lacks that films bite and dark comedy, but director Liman and cast have a good time and so should the audience.

Highly unlikely, but brilliant fun whilst it's on. My Hubbie couldn't even go to the loo in case he missed something-amazing! A good Saturday night watch, and plenty of comedy too.

There are two good things about this film: Simon Kinberg has written some relishably black jokes to go with the overall tone, and he's also written a likably, unusually proactive role for the female lead. Unfortunately, the female lead, like her male counterpart, simply cannot act. Both look really, really hot, neither evinces anything remotely resembling reality. Actually, Vince Vaughn is pretty amusing as Pitt's sidekick - so that's three things, and it's a measure of how bad the rest is, that it's still worth but one star. The plot has just bodged together two (much better) Kathleen Turner pictures 'Prizzi's honor' and 'The war of the Roses'), and Liman, who used to be a good director, seems to have taken the money and not bothered to turn up. It really sucks.

Do the washing up instead, predictible garbage. True lies was much better.

Is this a Black Comedy, or a Action Adventure? I don't even think the director knew. A very over-rated DVD in my opinion. Wooden performances from both leads. Where is the chemistry from these two actors, who are supposed to be a couple in real life? It was sadly lacking on screen. They looked like they were going through the motions purely to get the pay-cheque at the end. Awful - even for ardent fans!

Brad and Angelina were so great together, you could see they had a great relationship as it showed in the acting. It was both funny and an action film. The action along with the effects were second to none. It was an all round great film and even one to watch with the kids but not the small kids as there is a bit of 'lovey dovey' bits!! The story along with the mix of comedy makes this a film never seen before. BRILLIANT.

Never, in the history of film stars falling in love on set has a film had so little passion. Brad and Angelina fell in love while making this film and it sure doesnt show. It starts off fairly promisingly, quite witty and a preposporous yet endearing premise. By the end you really couldnt care less as the characters are so vapid and unlikable that I was hoping that they would both die. There, that told them!

I was looking forward to seeing the famous matching of Brad and Angelina, but the story did not excite me. In particular Angelina's acting left me unmoved. The whole idea of the film sounded like fun, but the reality was too typical. The action parts were over the top, but I expect that was the idea. However my daughters (aged 17, 11 and 9) all enjoyed it, especially the youngest two, who were disappointed when I sent the DVD back!

If you like films that use technology and gimmicks to try to make up for a lack of story, then this is for you. Think of how James Bond changed from the 60s to the 80s - more and more ridiculous. No character building or really even conversations in the film of any substance.

A good Friday night watch. A good overall film but becomes a little drawn out in the third quater.

No storyline. Poor Dialogue. Seems to be a vehicle for Brad and Angelina to prance around so you can admire how good looking they are. This may hold your interest for five minutes if you are lucky!

What could be a drear monotonous genre had the start of something different here. Was this taken full advantage of is debatable but that does not prevent this from being a film to watch without using too much brain power.

I found this film to be quite strange, I know the whole thing is based on their strange relationship, but it was just......... Meh? A strange action/romantic comedy/god knows what else kind of thing. Not what I was expecting at all, although the violence was quite cool! Sorry don't really have much else to say!

Absolutely awful film. Bad script and predictable story.

Ive seen some god-awful films in my time but this sets a new standard. If 'Sin City' wasnt bad enough, we see Mr Pitt and Ms Jolie star in this completely crap caper. I now understand why the advertisers made so much of their off-screen relationship when promoting this film...its because they probably couldnt find anything creative to say about the film. Dont waste your energy renting this, never mind watching it, its rubbish and jaw-droppingly boring. I give it one star, and thats being generous.

Action movie in style of War of the Roses. Worth a watch

Firstly there is eye candy for both her - my girlfriend had Brad Pitt and I had Angelina Jolie! - Everyone's happy!! Film story line is a bit weak but it is easy to watch and enjoy. Plenty of funny one liners from bith characters and Vince Vaughan always performs!! suggest you watch it but don't expect any Oscar performances!!!!

The movie where Brad met Angelina. A classy action comedy, with all the right elements - something for the girls, something for the boys, laughs and plenty of action. Really enjoyed this one.

The plot is given away to quick into the film and very little effort is given to the chase when they find out whom they are really married to. What could have been a great film is spoilt by Jolie spending too much time giving sultry pouting lip looks to camera and Pitt I will show you my chest poses. If you are a fan of either give this a miss I am sure they can both do better.

i'd read mixed reviews, but i thought i'd give it a try anyway. Maybe it's because i wasn't expecting anything from it that i enjoyed it, or maybe people are just taking it too seriously. I like brad pitt anyway, so that was a bonus (esp. the drunk scene) but if you wanna see a decent comedy type action film from actors who fill the roles quite well, you can do alot worse than this.

Only rented this because I'm a Jolie fan. Ended up watching it twice and enjoyed it more the second time. Delivers everything it says on the tin..and more besides. Hated Vince Vaughan but even Pitt's good in this one

Surprisingly good no brains required action movie.

This is one of the dullest films I have seen in a long time - totally predictable and 2-dimentional. The only reason anyone would enjoy this is to ogle at the beautiful actor and actress... and that's where it ends. Don't waste your time.

To say that this is film is 'typical Hollywood trash' would be a real insult to typical Hollywood trash, that can actually be perfectly entertaining when one is in the right mood. Dreadfull script, lame action sequences and the world's most irritating pair of actors on the screen together. Not exactly a winning combination.

Started watching this film with sceptisim, but by the end of it, I was very surprised and ended up enjoying it!

My heading says it all - this was minging. It stunk so bad I had to open every window in the house to get the smell out. Save your dosh and rent something else.

This is not the world's greatest film by any means. The plot is 'interesting' but isn't as terrible as some are suggesting. The subject could have been handled better. However, this is an action film in the 'James Bond' mode ie: Lots of gadgets, weapons, beautiful people and action. Please don't expect Shakespeare, because you're not going to get it

Better then i thought it would be! a bit daft in places but worth a look if you haven't anything better to do.

Nice easy film to follow, certainly allot of eye candy for everyone !! No real plot but enough good considerations to keep everyone amused !! The film has taken action elements from elsewhere, tried and tested formula !!

How bad! I could only stand it for 15 minutes. Hollywood sh*t! Yuk!

It starts slow and tedious, then after about an hour it gets a little faster and tedious. There are a few decent one liners, unfortunatley the tedium of the film means they get lost. I kept getting the urge to switch off after about half-hour, I perservered in the hope that it would get better, as some films can turn around after this time. It almost made it to three stars but the end of the film ment that it stayed firmly two stars. I would only recommend watching this film if your stoned, as the slow pace would be just right for your state of mind, DO NOT get stoned though just to watch this film because it's not worth the health implications.

No wonder they got it together on set they didn't do any acting. I'm sure Jennifer Aniston watched this and went why her!!!

For an action film, this has to be one of the better ones. Great chemistry between the two leads, great dialogue, great action sequences and overall a very fun film to watch.

I thought this film was going to begood, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The acting was wooden from both Brad Pitt and Angelina Joli - considering this is the set they got together. I did not see any on-screen chemistry. The film was poor, lots of shootings and not much else really.

I was very angry about this film - there should be a warning about the graphic violence between the main characters in the film. Not so much the shooting and the bombing because that is one step removed, but the moment where they both beat each other to a pulp - and then climaxed, of course by them making love (surprise!). Anyone who says it was 'cartoon like' (Tom and Jerry spring to mind) is kidding themselves. It is very suspect indeed. Jolie looks wonderful it must be said BUT Brad Pitt is very rapidly loosing his looks. I can only compare him to Paul Newman at the same age, much better looking and a greater actor. Mr Pitt can no longer get by, just on his looks alone. Instead of renting this film, staring such smug characters, rent something showing the partnership of Tracy & Hepburn instead and see how films should be made.

This film couldn't decide if it was action or comedy and for me it got the mix wrong. True lies was similar but got the mix right, here they are trying to make knifing or shooting someone funny. Didn't work for me.

Finally a funny Hollywood Film, a nice one for a saturday night on the couch.

I had this on my list and then saw all the bad reviews once it was too be posted to me and waited with dread. then it came and I wondered what all the fuss was about. the guy from Colchester who is not brave enough to leave his name and see undoubtedly all the rest of his rubbish reviews wants to lighten up... This is comic book like in my opinion and is great fun. I'm not a great fan of Hollywood movies but Doug Liman is an assured director and pulls this off with Tongue Firmly in cheek. As for the so called rubbish acting, I have to disagree, this was never going to win any Best Actor awards at the Oscars (thank goodness) but the spark between the two actors was excellent (you can see why they got together) and thought the action set pieces were really well made and very funny. If you want an silly action comedy to escape the depressing sitaution that can be real life - then give this a go.

good not too serious entertainment

Having read some of the reviews about this film I was somewhat apprehensive but needn't have been. The performances were in the main slick, the storyline was interesting and the action tight and controlled. Overall, an enjoyable film which retained my interest throughout.

An evening spent drilling holes in your fingernails would be much more entertaining than watching this very lame and truly terrible load of inevitable toss. Unless you have 3 brain cells or are a sheep.

This film has it's moments-a few one-liners and the overall premise of husband and wife both being assassins for different firms promised much, but delivered little. The best thing from a mans point of view was Angelina Jolie to look at and my wife says Brad Pitt was the highlight for her. Unless you want eye-candy from a film, I really wouldn't bother.

The first half was appalingly borning, corny, not funny & not entertaining. The second half was a little bit but not much better: the car chase in the people's carrier was the only sequence with modicum of interest. Plus, it tries to make light entertainment of what is essentially a pair of murderers who don't feel any remores for their victims - talk about death wish of modern culture. Tasteless, boring, not funny AND morally suspicious.

Better than I thought it would be it kept me entertained. Very ugly cast though! If you like a little light entertainment this is excellent to stay in with a bottle.

Whilst the film started off interesting, it soon became pretty stupid. One might say it was harmless fun. Personally I thought it was a waste of time.

do yourself a favour: watch a real action movie, or watch a doris day/rock hudson flick. mr & mrs falls somewhere between, without the suspense of the former and definitely without the charm of the latter. total pap. but, hey, sometimes pap is all we want. so if you're in the mood for pretty people shooting just about anything that moves, and a couple of moments where you might almost laugh, this is the baby for you. and if really really enjoy it, the bonus feature explains how there was a bullet hole in the windshield all along – revelation! wow!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. It's not a brilliant story but it is light-hearted fun, even during the big gun fights. If you have a boring evening and don't expect too much, you could do a lot worse.

So, the True Lies format was ripped off and sexed up with better looking actors. Very disappointing...I expect more from both the leads. Not much of a story, over long, I also didn't care what happened to either character. The action scenes were quite good though, and I liked the fight in the house.

Don't misunderstand me, I think Brad Pitt is a good actor. He was great in 12 Monkeys. Excellent in Fight Club. Angelina Jolie, it goes without saying, is stunning and, given the chance, makes a good fist of acting too. But (and here's the rub), this film is poor and comes across as nothing more than a vehicle for Hollywood's most beautiful couple. Sadly, in all the hubbub the plot was lost and we were left with a film that can't make it's mind up - is it an action movie/thriller? is it a comedy? It ends up as neither and it's painful to watch. Sorry Brangalena, I know you can do better...

I can't tell you just how bad this film is. Both the wife and I hated it.....It failed on every single level. Don't waste your time on this drivel What were you thinking Mr Pitt?

Storyline not as good as I expected it to be. The only saving grace for me was the eye candy Brad Pitt although his role was not a showcase for his excellent acting skills such as in Kalifornia.

When this film came out, I can't remember actually considering going to see it but I do remember all the hype. Having now seen it, I think it did provide a slice of light entertainment that was well performed and kept me engrossed. The major flaw I thought was that having seen the busta video several times previously, I never realised how similar it was to the film...which kinda made me think I should have stuck with Bustas 4 minute version rather than the 2 hour one.

Not bad although it was the second time of attempting to watch it, amusing in places but it isn't too bad of a view.

This has to be one of the worst films i have ever seen! it is plotless, directionless and downright bouring! It's a film that's trying to be witty but fails due to the two lead actors having no timing and the script , which is rather poor.All the perfomances are bad, with the two leads especially acting like they are on auto pilot but lets face it they not exactly top acting talent!. This film also tries to be in the line of Mission Impossible films and The James Bond Series but fails miserably, generally it would be a good cure for insomnia and one of the few films i have nearly walked out of / switched off. Utter Twaddle Just a collection of scenes showing 2 extremely attractive people running around occasionally shooting at each other. Could not watch to the end, but thats still an hour of my life I'll never get back.

If you have seen any posters or trailers promoting this film on its release then you already know what to expect. It is good action-filled entertainment but is it just me that feels uncomfortable watching love-scenes between Pitt and Jolie knowing that they are a real-life couple?

If you want something a bit ridiculous, good to look at, and don't care much for the story line or acting -then get it. Otherwise steer well clear!

Excellent film. Brad and Angelina work great as a couple (can see why they ended up together!). Great action sequences.

This movie is good for when you are stuck with nothing else to watch!! It is very entertaining, but please don't expect the storyline to dazzle you as you will be disappointed. Apart from that it was good fun, and you can definately see the sparks fly between Ang and Brad!!

Oh Dear what happened with this film? Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie sounds like a real blockbuster? You will be sadly disapointed with this film, good idea but badly executed. The script was appalling and I didn't feel the sex appeal between Brad and Angelina. The action scenes were quite good but that's all the good comments I have to say about this terrible film!

Meaningless empty action movie, devoid of any merit and not worthy of any comment or analysis. Even the tomb raider movies beat this hands down. I've nothing against the genre (snakes on a plane is fantastic, actually worth seeing) but this is just pants, waste of life.

Mr and Mrs Smith is about a married couple who both assassins, however their new targets are each other. I thought it was pretty naff really, I didn't enjoy it and it wasn't how I imagined it to be. A plus side to the film, Brad Pitt is pretty funny.

brad pitt and angelina jolie quite positively sizzle on screen together as the two deadly (but very sexy) assassins they're obviously a well matched pair because they have this natural chemistry between them which is clear for everyone to see (once they both find out that they're assassins working for rival agencies)

IF you like your action films then give this a once over. Altho I will say that it goes on a bit near the end and it can be a bit pridicatble

And there is certainly a place for it, then you may enjoy this caper movie. And if you like Brad and Angelina then that would be at least two reasons for watching. Otherwise, like me, you may prefer to leave the room and do something different.

This film took about 35 minutes to get going, once it finally got going it had a few good bits but I don't think I would bother watching it again. It's a shame as the story had real potential and given the fact it stars two good actors it could have been a lot better than it was.

This just proves that you don't know everything about your wife/husband. Fast moving action easy to watch but a clever twist in the story.

I got the wrong idea about this film before I saw it. It wasn't what I expected at all, and I was left feeling a little disappointed. It didn't anticipate that it would be so far-fetched and predictable, and expected a more solid storyline being as two major actors were staring in it. The real-life chemistry between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was evident and good to watch, however, this is not a film I would want to watch again, or one I would recommend to anyone.

After all the hype I was really looking forward to watching this movie. I found the storyline to be lacking but this was redeemed by the pretty amazing stunts etc. I was disappointed at the end and was really left wondering what it was all about.

wasn't all that excited about watching this movie but it kept me entertained throughout. 'Pitt' plays his usual hunky self and his fit partner 'jolie' looks like she was trained in fighting off anything that could move. it was quite tonge in cheek in some of the action parts which made me giggle and one quite hot moment that the two of them share after just punching lumps out of each other. worth a watch but quite predictable.

It was okay - nothing special

I cannot believe that I have just watched such a rubbish film. It was recommended to me by a friend and my friend has gone down in my estimation. It has no redeeming features I can think of. It is a typically American piece of twoddle : All explosions, hollow characters, phantasy island power crazed delusions and no storyline. If you have a brain do not see this film.

If you want maximum reality, then don't bother with this film. However, if you like black comedy and sarcastic humour, then this may be the film for you. Easy to watch and very easy on the eye!!

There are far better action movies than this, and if Hollywood thinks this rubbish is acceptable then bring on the Asian movies (Infernal Affairs for a start). Please don't waste a few hours of your life on this like I did. Unless you're renting it just to look at Brad and Angelina of course.

The general reviews were not good, but as in the past we tend to ignore a lot of these, as the number of films that were supposedly rubbish we enjoyed. It is a matter of taste and what you are looking for in a film at that moment. Mr & Mrs Smith was well done and even though the outcome was fairly obvious it was an enjoyable easy to watch film.

A totally pointless movie..absolute garbage. I wish I could claim back the time I wasted watching it.

Mr and Mrs Smith - I was really looking forward to this film as the two main characters, Brad Fit and Angelina Jolie starred in it. Well, what a disappointment. The film started off slowly with not too much to think about (no excitement at all). It was all a bit far fetched, them trying to kill each other, then to top it all they end up in each others arms (very predictable). This was a silly film of which I would never recommend to anyone.

The story dragged and even when it did get going I had wandered off wanting to carry on watching, disappointed.

Didn't know what to expect, but, good film for chilling out to at the end of the week. Even Hubby enjoyed this, and he is not a film lover!!

this film had me hooked from the start. it was funny, and action packed all the way through. the chemistry between them was brilliant, its no wonder they got to gether. i'd love to see more like this one.

I was looking forward to seeing this film to see the chemistry between the two stars as this is where they first met. What a disappointment! The film was so boring I didn't even watch it to the end. Their characters were wooden, there was no love between them even though the characters had been married for 5-6 years and they tried to kill each other without a second thought when they found out they worked for opposing government groups. No explanation was given for why they did their jobs or didn't know what each other did for a job. They killed people and we didn't find out why they were asked to kill them. It was totally unbelievable.

I thought this would have been a great film, what with Brad and Angelina starring in this block buster. To be honest it wasnt worth watching.

with all the excitment surrounding this couple i could not wait to witness all of this supposide on screen chemistry between the pair of them but alas i feel a little bit mislead by the production company no doubt in order to boost sales for this non the less entertaining film angelina jolie gives it her all in this film and i felt that very often she was carrying brad pitt who fails abysmally to angelina in the acting stakes he is wooden she seemed to show more expression in her face but all the same it was a good film and fun to boot

I rented this as a spoof movie, and it did fit that genre. Light hearted and far fetched it is, but after a couple of beers it did make me chuckle. Harmless fun for a wet night in.

mrand mrs smith is a must see movie it is a action packed film and is funny i realy enjoyed it that is why i would give a rating of 4 stars

Anyone looking for anything more than daft entertainment will be disappointed with this film. Its sexiness, guns and fun. Enjoy it for that! The plot is paper-thin, characterisation is basic. Angelina Jolie is sophisticated and smooth, killing quickly and quietly whereas Brad Pitt tends to make as much noise and ruckus as possible, one highly professional and efficient, the other gung-ho and amateur. (This is further revealed through the fact that Jolie's company is based in a sophisticated office building with hi-tec computers, while Pitt's boss operates from his mum's house, quite an amusing touch, I thought). As you'd expect the chemistry is good between Pitt and Jolie and there are some lovely, witty dialogue exchanges between them. There are one or two nice action sequences, the highway chase being a highlight. One or two moments are just too silly though; Jolie's stretchy bag which allows her to escape from high-rise windows is utterly daft and silly, too silly even for this. Watch this film when you want to see something light that's not going to tax your emotions to any degree. This is a film to be enjoyed for what it is: a daft caper.

i would say this film is outstandingly terrible! they jump around destroying there own house, what are they playing at. there like a bunch of wild dogs. do not watch unless your are SERIOUSLY BORED!!!

Mr & Mrs Smith is different to other films on the circuit at the moment. Keeps you wondering, keeps you guessing, and never gives the ending away untilyou get there. I really enjoyed it.

Nya.... it wasn't that bad. There was chemistry between the two leads because they ended up getting together for a bout of baby shopping in Africa as a result of meeting each other through the film. The shoot outs were pretty cool. I'm ashamed to say that, once it got going, i did quite enjoy this film and i'm a massive snob.

Having watched Bourne Identity which I thought was brilliant, I wanted to see another film by the same director. I was completely disappointed. Acting was wooden especially from Mrs Angelina Jolly- Dreadful. Plot weak, action predictable but Brad Pitt is always watchable which is why I gave the film a star. I'm keen to watch Bourne Supremacy now. Goodbye.

Too much background noise/music and low volume on speech. I was forever altering the level of sound to try to hear what they were saying. Also, I thought it was quite infantile.

Your typical big budget hyped film, which visually looks good but is a shallow and pointless as most of the other films out there nowadays.

Unfortunately this is not a patch on the original film. Pitt and Jolie pout their way through it and frankly, I couldn't get into their characters or the thin plots. It was a nice try, but it really didn't work for me and I just carried on reading with it on in the background.

Didnt really enjoy this film think it was bit too ridiculous. But made me smile in the end! Wouldnt really recommend it but there was plenty of action and no dull moments!!! Each to their own I suppose.

The usual story of a young attractive couple, both assassins hired to kill each other, a bit like real life. Plenty of action though, and a lot of explosions. Although, it's probably not Anjolina's acting that impresses me after all.

There was a good reason the critics panned this one. You'll realise that after about 20 minutes. Pitt, usually quite Good. Jolie, usually quite rubbish. For some reason they never managed to make this one gel. They have both produced better before.

This should have ended like Butch Cassidy or Thelma & Louise. It didn't, which was its weakness

It was a bit slow to start but once it got going was very enjoyable.

This film was absolutely boring and a west of my time.Brand Pit and Angelinia Jolie are not well as a couple, the plot was far fetched and there were spotsa that were absolutely redicoulous.(warning there are spoilers from now on) Like how Jane (Angelina) can be an expert at driving a family car when they don't really have a family, she is not the typical suburban football mom and she is actually driving a Merc? Or why did they kill everybody in the last figh scenes but they didn't even suffer an injury? Stay away from this movie. There are better ways to spent your valuable time.

This was a brilliant film full of action and funny in parts. Good line up and acting. Well worth watching.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, thought the storyline was good and the effects brilliant. The chemistry between Brad and Ange was good and I was gripped the whole way through. Highly recommended!

Not an unusual plot but a typical one. Interesting idea but I felt there was something missing.

Quite liked it but it was nothing special. Brad pitt was a bit wooden and the whole thing a tad ridiculous but if you like action films then you will probably like this.

It's cheesy, but for what it is, it's OK...funny in places.

Everyone knows divorce is the new cool get married yung and then get divorced. Unfortunatly this film's really old fashioned (in fact I was suprised it was in technicolor) and the film makers is thinking that being married is good. I was a bit confused that they thought domestic abuse was a good thing. I mean I'd give my bird a slap is she slept with my three mates (like what she did do) but then I don't think it's 'good' not in the sense of being the hero in a micheal bay film *rox out* that's awesome. not this guff. Don't bother watching it. just watch Se7en and some good with Angelia Jolie in it (or maybe jsut a porn) instead.

action packed with mr and mrs pitt fighting it out till the end,amazing storyline with lots of twists in it,really enjoyed it.

Good easy watching witout too much to think about

I was really disappointed with this film. It sounded a good idea for a plot, and I was hoping for something like 'True Lies' which is brill, but it's just not.... The film started OK, but seemed to degenerate into an excuse for the Brangelina pair to use every weapon under the sun and destroy everything around them, at this point I fell asleep out of sheer boredom. When I woke up they were still going, so I switched off and didn't even finish the film. Avoid.

Definately not one of Pitt's best films, nor Jolie's for that matter. Very slow moving and not much of a storyline as far as I'm concerned. Very disappointing.

Better than expected. Not bad storyline, Brangelina pretty good together. Enough of a combination of eye candy and action scenes for all. Wouldnt ness watch it again, but enjoyed it well enough.

good action flick with a twist in the story

An enjoyable film, good charator interchanges, dilaogue interesting, film photography well directed. Lapses interspersed with action to return attention to the storey development. All good I surpose. Sorry, but the renactment of Bonny and Clide with a little Butch Cassidy and The Sun Dance kid detracted from the action sequences.

I thought this was the worst film I have seen this year. I like Brad Pitt (which woman would not) and think Angelina quite watchable but this had no plot at all or one with little crebibility. There were a few funny lines and obvious set ups but over all it was rubbish. As if a woman would kill her husband of 6 years just because her boss tells her to? It's ridiculous.

But my overall concern was the absolute disregard for human life that this film showed. I realise its only a film but people were being killed left, right and centre, often for no other reason than they were in the way. It gave the impression that none of their lives mattered and its perfectly okay to kill people - not something I want to watch.

This film appears to be about Pitt and Jolie having a good time, with lots of good effects and fighting.....Ooops, they forgot the viewers need a story line. I kept waiting for a theme or something, but no.... A very disapointing film.

This film held the promise of being a decent romp along the lines of True Lies.

Unfortunately with it's painfully slow pace, lurching from one set piece to another, it becomes obvious it was just a money spinner for the studios.

They probably thought all they had to do was put Angelina Jolie in for the boys and Brad Pitt for the girls and they had a winner on their hands - and I'm sure it worked in terms of money spinning.

It's one of those films that you feel was made with the trailer in mind. By which I mean you ensure there are enough hero moments and flashes of Angelina's thighs to ensure the trailer will entice enough people in before word gets round that it's actually pretty weak.

Why didn't they just leave each other? I'm sorry but this film has to be on my "Do Not Recomend" list. For two such BIG FILM STARS they must be feeling as though they need to be on screen. I gave it two stars because it helped me fall asleep.

Potentially the worst film in existence. I noticed one of the reviews mentioning that they dozed off during the film, and I had a very similar experience. To say that this film is beyond ridiculous is not even strong enough - romantic action comedy? Comedy being the only word we are able to use about this film, and not in a good way. While Jennifer Aniston has surely yet to watch the film that brought Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt together, I'm sure when she gets round to seeing it she will realise why she had the last laugh. Worst film ever and I would highly recommend avoiding it at all costs!!

It's easy to see why Brad & Angelina hooked up during the filming of this movie. Their chemistry is great and the whole thing is loads of fun.

Rarely do I doze off during a film, but with this one I did! Billed as an Action Romantic Comedy, I agree there is plenty of action, but with hardly any romance, and little comedy, the action is barely strung together with a plot. The action is high tech and glitzy, but not enough to make this film any good. My recommendation - DON'T BOTHER!

If your choice of evening entertainment is between watching Mr & Mrs Smith and watching paint dry, go for the paint option every time. It's hard to imagine a film which is less engaging, less intellectually challenging, less entertaining in every way. Wooden performances, the flimsiest of plots, predictable dialogue and an uninspiring soundtrack and not even a flicker of chemistry between the two 'stars'.

Take my advice, don't bother.

I wouldn't buy this film but as a bit of 'good' action entertainment it scores well in my book.

I usually like to write longer reviews but i can not think of anything other to say about this film other then i didn't like it and i'm not trying to say don't bother watching it if you want to but i found it boring.Both the main stars are good at making films and i enjoy watching them but this did nothing for them and the only action was some shoot out scenes all the rest i found a bit slow and boring,thats about it really.

Comedy action thriller in which Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie play married couple John and Jane Smith who are unaware that they are both assassins working for rival agencies until they are ordered by their respective bosses to kill the same target (Adam Brody of The O.C. fame). Being given the same job leads to the couple discovering the truth about each other and they are then ordered by their respective bosses to kill each other, and are given 48 hours to do so. Will they obey their orders or will they remember their marriage of half a decade or so? This movie is undoubtedly entertaining, with lots of explosions, gunfights and diverting action sequences. The banter between Pitt and Jolie as they attempt to kill each other whilst still calling each other ‘dear’ and ‘honey’ is amusing, but ultimately director Doug Liman doesn’t pack enough plot into this film to make it excellent, despite the obvious star power of Pitt and Jolie and the film’s tongue-in-cheek humour. Worst of all there is a glaring plot hole towards the end of the film, such that in the final analysis this film works as spectacle, but not much more.

The action was predictable and I found myself awaiting the end of the film as I became more and more bored.

Mr and Mrs smith is a excellant film. Its about Mr Smith (Brad Pitt) who is a assasin and his wife dont no and Mrs Smith (Anilina Jolie) Who is also a assasin for a competitor agancie. They then receive new targets wich turn out to be each other. From the start to finish there is alot of action and a little funny bits. And the answer is absolutly amazon a must see i give anyone who dont like this film need there heads checked. infinite stars if i could

You have to be a real Angelina or Brad fan to enjoy this.

I found this film extremely silly. I lost the plot about halfway through but did not care. The characters were unbelievable. The only interesting stuff was the tongue in cheek shoot em up scenes.

Okay so lots of bums made it to the seats of this one, but lets face it a large part of that was due to the fact that Angelina and Brad met on the set. So all that aside, you arent really left with a great deal. The script is cheesy and there is plenty of action pieces, but there isnt really a great deal else...............

i watch this when it first came out at the cinema and only re rented it as the girlfriend has never seen it, no matter how much i told her it was rubbish and we would have more fun putting our hands in a blender she wouldnt listen, she says it was OK which means it was rubbish but will not admit it :)) if you still havent seen this film then dont waist your time it was over hyped garbage and still is, add something else to your wish list and give this a wide birth.

A lot of people didn't like this film, but we found it to be a pleasant, and sometimes funny watch. The leads played against each other very well, and the house wrecking shoot-em-up near the end is great fun to watch. Worth watching.

I was not surprised that I enjoyed this film as I have seen it before. Must be a good film if I wanted to watch it twice.

Pretty implausible yarn but quite pacy. Easy to sleep through some bits only to wake up and re-join the action without losing the plot - such as it was!

Do they really think that we, the general public, are so stupid that we would rent or by a film purely because of the headline stars? Clearly we are. After all, I hired this rubbish myself and I wasted an hour of my precious life trying so hard to find a reason why all those millions of dollars were ever spent on this moron fodder. When you think that the cost of hiring these so-called superstars would have been enough to pay off the national debt of a minor third word nation. These people are either without talent or without scruples, maybe both. What a dreadful, cynical world we inhabit. Awful, simply awful.

This is a good wet afternoon film but not for getting excited about. The couple are good looking and there is chemistry but its all a bit washed out for me i am afraid.

The actors are very decorative, but the story becomes quite slow after a good start.. Considering the theme of the film, I found the ending quite weak.

I tried hard to like this, but I actually found myself waiting eagerly for the end after about an hour. No script to speak of, no trace of genuine acting, just two very pretty people shooting at each other for no apparent reason. Absolute waste of time. If you want to watch an unexpected and life enhancing film, watch 'Be kind, rewind'. An absolute joy in comparison to this drivel.

Very weird seeing the movie that the Pitt Jolie liason commenced on but the chemistry is clear. Really enjoyed this action semi romance

No real plot, no theme. Just some guy with a dodgy forehead and some woman whom is meant to be the hottest thing on earth, fireing guns and throwing 'come to bed' looks at eachother for 90 mins. Guys can watch it for Angelina. Ladies, go and wash your hair, or something constructive because this will bore you to tears!

Well acted, bit over the top movie but amusing and worth a watch if you like either of the main actors. The chemistry that these two display in this film indicates why they got together.

Far fatched but a laugh in places. Not the best I have rented but easy to watch on a cold afternoon. Bit predictable.

Oh my god, what a waste of time! The acting and the story are really poor. The entire movie is all about the relationship and the chemistry Pitt/Joly. I certainly wouldnt recommend this film.

This was really bad. I tried watching one night and fell asleep after 5 minutes. Tried again the next night and managed another 20. My wife reassured me that I did n;t need to try again the whole film being complete tosh. Don't waste time. Life is too short.

Absolute garbage - video game style mindless violence. If your not a boy between 12 and 18 foget it

Here it is folks, the movie that spawned BrAngelina and broke Jennifer Annistons heart. We start off slowly, as we're introduced to the rather mediocre Smith's and their normal, clinical dead marriage. And oh how misleading that start is. Its not long before we start to pick up on little details that just seem so out of place for your average couple, be it as small as balancing one footed on a chair to hang some curtains. A slow start? Yes. A boring start? No. It's all part of building the characters and mixes in enough humour and intrigue to keep you going. Much more than your average action/assasin story where we typically open on multiple explosions which sets the scene for a movie of...more explosions, and shooting and a very weak storyline. You won't find that here. What you will find is an interesting storyline. enough action scenes to keep THOSE people happy ;D and of course our final explosive section of the movie. But none of this is forced, the storline is enjoyable and the characters although not hugely developed are intersting enough. A very enjoyable movie. Not just for those people with an explosion fuelled heart but for your average popcorn movie goer.

No Oscar-winner but a really fast-paced, fun and entertaining movie. Great chemistry between Brad and Angelie, and a brilliantly realistic fight scene between them. Well worth a look if you want something light and easy on the eye.

If you want low key amusement this is for you. If you like looking at Brad Pitt, or Angelina Jolie, this is for you. It's very silly.

Just wanted to see what all the fuss was about! Some good humerous moments and nice change to have a different type of storyline to usual Hollywood action films.

For some reason the kind people decided to send me this dvd. I gave it a go and wasted my evening trying to convince myself that it was worth watching the film to see 'beautiful' actors....alas i realised it was not. I would have liked to see the film end in the opening scene with both Jolie and PItt being cut down in a fury of grenades. But you win some you lose some, enjoy!! 2 thumbs down.

this is one of my favorites, a must see for an evening of action packed comedy.

Thought the acting was wooden and the plot-line was just awful...........your other half works for a rival firm, so they have to be killed!!!! AS actors, I do like Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie and there was obvious chemistry between them (they do look so good as a couple), but the script was just poor for me. A real let down and can't believe that some people can view this as one of their favourite films!

I have watched this film a few times and never get bored of it. You definitely won't be disappointed!
