Dil Chahta Hai 

This is a very good modern movie from Bollywood. Its all about friendship and finding love, amongst 3 friends. Well put together, good storelyine and songs. Not the usual type of movie that bollywood churns out, so should appeal to more viewers including non-asians who want to see a more modern view of asian culture.

A great high budget picture, with an unparalleled picture quality. The storyline keeps you engrossed and is not atypical bollywood conveyor belt crap! Light, topical, humourous and simply brilliant

A great comedy, worth seeing any number of times. Melodious songs ... were quite a rage. Saif and Aamir are brilliant ... I think Saif's the best from the 3 leads. Dimple is gorgeous. SEE IT

This film suffers tremendously from an over-indulged scriptwriter - hardly surprising, as this self-same spoilt scriptwriter is also the director! Whereas it is difficult to argue that a film which tells the story of three characters could do so effectively without a sufficient running time, in this movie there are too many unnecessary scenes (Akash, Shalini and her uncle leaving a cinema, for instance, or Sid's mad dash to his house to get painting materials, or Sameer's entire misadventure with a dodgy `Swiss` girl). Furthermore, for such a long film, there aren't really that many music numbers, and only one which in my opinion stands out, the slow and sultry Tanhayee (by Sonu Nigam). No, this film does not deserve the surprisingly high ratings it has received. True, the potential is there, but this has been squandered by intemperance and a lack of focus.

Only rented this movie as it had been given good reviews by others. Watched it to the end just to find the bit that everyone thought was so good, but failed to find anything. The story (or more precisely the lack of story) is based on the superficial love lives of three totally shallow, uninteresting, characters that you just cannot get any afinity for whatsoever.It is one big yawn from beginning to end. Rent it if you are a gluton for punishment!

enjoyed film. quite a serious story line, but enjoyed.

Amir khan picks another great script, a real diamond of a movie, strong performances, loved this movie, songs fantastic, deals with modern issues, watch this.

Very different from the usual bollywood fare. Realistic acting and an unusual storyline surrounding the life and loves of these three close friends. It does descend into a sort of bog-standard slushy love story in the last hour but apart from that this is a refreshing, heart-warming movie. A must-see!

This is a excelent movie shows thw life style of young generation thinking about their life.

At last a quality bollywood movie. Well worth a watch

the dvd was not playing after the first hour. I missed the film and I would recommend changing this disc.

This was a most enjoyable film about three friends Akash Malhotra (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan), and Siddharth Sinha (Akshaye Khanna) who are all very much alike and a bit boys behaving badly in their general attitude to things but when it comes to how they view love they are all very different. Akash is cynical and doesn't believe in love. Sameer is a hopeless romantic, who falls in love at the drop of a hat and Siddharth, an artist has a more serious take on life particularly when he becomes involved with an older woman. The film takes you through a period of thier lives where they each become more mature and shows you how their relationships with women helps to bring this about and how that affects their friendship with each other. Well worth a watch

Hello, This movie is just amazing, Aamir Khan is amazingly superb in this movie. Khanna & Khan have acted well, however, it's not up to their standards. There is always something in this movie to laugh, it's almost every 4 - 5 minutes. Dimple's role to complete this movie is okay. As usual she looks stunning at this age.. Preety is extremely PRETTY, her acting is up to amazing standard. The movie just flows perfectly. Worth watching at least twice. Enjoy every minute. Cheers SAURABH

must have seen this film a dozen times & rented it three times, still dont get tired of it, beautiful music & direction

This film was dull and ponderous.

Other reviewers have said it was different from the usual Bollywood fayre, but many of the same boxes can be ticked e.g.

1. One of the characters going abroad (in this case Australia) and becoming an instant business success

2. Unbelievable conincidences like being sat next to the same girl on a plane (first class of course) that you had previously declared your undying love for at a college disco

3. Driving along Indian roads in some foreign luxury car (this time a Mercedes SL convertible, which must be one of the rarest cars in India)

4. Being able to fall in love at the drop of a hat.

The reason why I have given it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the film did have one original idea, namely a young man falling in love with a much older woman.

But unless love stories that span the generational gap are your speciality, avoid this film.

worth watching....my family enjoyed it

I love how this film is about the friendship between the main chracters aswel as it being about their relationships with women too. The three actors are all brilliant and the film never bored me start to finish. Nice way to pass a few hours.

One of the best films which is sure to achieve a cult status. For a lot of people it is easy to relate this movie with their own life which has a whole rainbow of emotions from the harmless banter between friends to falling in love with an older women which is still a taboo in the Indian culture. Definitely a must watch to understand the changing new age India.

3 different lives take on the road to find their destinies. This road romantic film casts just a few of the best in the bollywood cinema history, and their performance are incredibly well acted.

I had not seen a Hindi film for some time and was still half expecting the usual old-school plots. However, this film is hopefully the way Indian Cinema is going.

This is a cool film. It may be a 'guy' film but I loved it because there is plenty for the girls too. The three heros have added brilliant performances to an abundance of fun, artistic, and emotional scenes. The not-so-typical Bollywood movie has proved to set itself in the contemporary world of art. Bollywood producers need to make more movies like this.

Did not even finish watching the whole film. Poor casting , dull songs and bad script. Even background sound was bad!
